How to use IML with R and SAS
Hello,
I have a for loop that generates data in R. With the IML program, I would
like to analyze data in SAS from each iteration of the for loop in R. It
would be helpful if someone could explain to me how to analyze data this
way.
Thanks

Boot from OCFS2
Dear List,
I''m thinking about using xen productive in our datacenter, i''m still
testing around with it. Now I got some questions, just for basic
understanding, we got for example this environment:
2 Nodes
1 SCSI Pool server (Connected via scsi to both nodes)
Now I want to build a "cluster" so i would like to make this:
Node 1 -> Primary -| | --> domU

solving cubic/quartic equations non-iteratively -- comparisons
...solutions also require iteration, and one post claimed iterative solutions are more accurate than the explicit solutions.
This post, however, is about comparative accuracy of (1) the R solve functionused in the included post, (2) the R polyroot function, (3) the Matlab roots function, (4) the SAS IML polyroot function. I tried the posted polynomial:
-8 + 14*x - 7*x^2 + x^3 = 0
and a repeating-roots example:
8 - 36*x + 54*x^2 - 27*x^3 = 0
I used Mathematica solutions as the reference:
(* Posted example *)
Roots[-8 + 14 x - 7 x^2 + x^3 == 0, x]
x == 1 || x == 2 || x == 4
(* Repe...

R equivalent of Beaton's Sweep algorithm
I'm looking for an R equivalent of Beaton's (1964) Sweep algorithim for
partial inversion of a
matrix by pivoting.
It implemented in SAS/IML as sweep(matrix, indices), described here

SAS to R translator for particular procedures (fwd)

I am interested in writing a SAS to R translator that would take SAS
code for a particular package (ie. Proc IML - interactive matrix language)
and convert it to R. A primary motivation for such a tool would be an escape
from proprietary license license fees and labor savings from not having to
translate character by character manually.
Any comments and suggestions would be appreciated.

Buenos días, estoy intentando reproducir el script de este github:

Todo iba bien hasta que en el 6º panel me encuentro esto:

1: compute loss function for original model
2: for variable i in {1,...,p} do

| estimate loss function

Translation from R codes to SAS.
my teachers doesnt understand R and I don't know how to use SAS.
Anyone interested in translating my codes to test whether your SAS codes are
as good as R???
I can test it on SAS codes once you have translated it ....

Eigenvectors and values in R and SAS
Hi,
I was wondering if function eigen() does something different from the
function call eigen() in SAS.
I'm in the process of translating a SAS code into a R code and the values of
the eigenvectors and eigenvalues of a square matrix came out to be different
from the values in SAS.
I would also appreciate it if someone can explain the difference in simple
terms. I'm pretty new to both

SAS and R on multiple operating systems
Hi,
This is not meant to be critical of R, but is intended as
a possible source for improvements to R.
SAS needs the competition.
I am reasonably knowledgeable about

Does R run on natively (no emulation)?

Stacking several vectors from the list
Hi everybody,
I'm working on the very
messy data, I have tried to clean it up in SAS and
SAS/IML but there is not enough info on how to handle certain things
in SAS so I have turned to R. The thing itself should be rather
simple, so i was wondering if someone could help me out.

Statistical / data mining methods in R and not in SAS?
Hi, and sorry for asking such an unspecific question.
Does anybody know of statistical / data mining methods that are available in R
that are not in SAS ? With SAS I mean the SAS System Version 9.4 and SAS
Enterprise Miner. I don't expect a complete list, just two or three examples
or hints where and what to look for.
I found some older comparisons, and the R methods mentioned there
