issue with jpg-illuminator
Hallo, I'm using wine in Kubuntu. The only Windows application I'm using is http://www.jpg-illuminator.de/ (freeware). It's running without any problems with Kubuntu 11.10 (wine-1.3.28 ). But I just installed Kubuntu 12.04 (Beta) with wine-1.4-rc6 and get the following error message and a frozen jpg-illuminator: > $ cat /disk2/tmp/xxx > ~$ wine

Re: Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
Thanks Christian. Now I can play my FLAC files with WiMP. I uninstalled the illuminable package and then installed the Matroska. The result was the opposite that I got for the illuminable: the illuminable package registered the types but WiMP couldn't find the codecs, the Matroska didn't register the types but it did make the codecs available. This is much preferable of course

Q: Does anyone have a WE multi-line card dialer phone working with *?
...uot;START" button, and--voila!--the phone speed dials your party.) Each line in the phone uses three pairs in the Amp cable; the first pair is for ring and tip, the second pair is a mystery (I'm eagerly awaiting a copy of one of the phone's BSPs so I can find out), and the third pair illuminates the lamp in the button. Most of the remaining pairs in the Amp cable connect to one of the terminal boards inside the phone, and one pair connects to the phone's network (presumably for common ringing, since the leads connect to L1 and L2). If I were to connect the first pair of each line to...

Cross-compile errors under R-2.4.0 and R-2.4.1

Snom side car annoyance
Has anyone got this annoying sidecar to illuminate when users are on the phone? In my function key settings I have: Context: Active Type: Extension Number: <sip:4000@serve.address.com;user=phone> (4000 is the extension I want to see/dial on the key). I can press the key and it will dial the extension, it just won't illuminate when the user is on the phone or on DND Since I have

Illiminable DS filters for FLAC don't work
At my company we have a bunch of music in FLAC format. We want to play it using the Windows Media Player, but none of us can get the illiminable DS filters to work. Here are some details. Illiminable DS filters http://www.wmplugins.com/ItemDetail.aspx?ItemID=681 http://www.illiminable.com/ogg/ We are using the latest build available on this website, and I have read all the known issues. Question Regarding Visual Park Functionality - Hardware/Software
Hello List! I am hoping someone may be able to assist with the following feature I am looking to implement: I would like to use a visual park function if possible, here's how I see it working.... -> Call comes into caller A -> Caller A places the call in orbit (or park) by dialing 700 -> A message is then sent to illuminate a line on each of the phones in this office indicating a

FREE AAC/aacPlus Plugin for WMP Supports Icecast2
Ok, I read the Read Me. So icyx://boa.mediacast1.com:9292/stream.aac works. I don't understand why the http syntax cannot be made to work. This works fine for Ogg Vorbis streams using the Illumination DirectShow filter. How can I do a spinning plot in R?
I have found XLispStat's spinning plots illuminating. I'd like to do the same thing in R. A dozen or so probes with help, help.search, apropos haven't turned up anything, and I've even resorted to grepping through the entire R source distribution looking for 'spin.*plot', to no avail. Either the feature is called something else in R (what?), or it's in some other

Ready for real use?
Hi all, I've been following Theora's progress for a while as the company I work for is looking at replacing the use of the MPEG1 codec with a royalty free alternative. I have evaluated Theora and I think in its current state it is quite close to doing to job as oppose to Dirac which still has a very long way to go. What I would like to ask is how far from 1.0 is Theora? I see periodic

96k/24-bit BWF encoding
Hi, I am attempting to use flac to encode 96k/24-bit broadcast wav (BWF) files. BWFs are wav files with some extra meta-data chunks, and is the favoured archival format for many institutions around the world. These files are encoded successfully by flac, however the resulting flac file is not playable on all flac players - it plays successfully in foobar2000 but is silent in winamp, and when

audio/vorbis media type registration
This is the first draft of the audio/vorbis media registration form to be handled to the IANA. PLEASE comment extensively, even minor spelling mistakes etc are to be stamped out of this I hope. A media type for application/ogg (or should it be application/oggsquish?) will be created separately. I would be very happy if someone could supply the 4-letter filetype code used by MacIntosh .ogg files.

writeChar potential buffer overrun (PR#5090)
Trying to copy the (binary) header of a input file directly to an output file, I've had repeatable seg faults. The call: writeChar(hdr, outfh, nchars=6144) when hdr just contains one empty string seems to be the culprit. The stack traces weren't all that illuminating, with sig 11 in memory-related functions following this. But in src/main/connections.c it looks like do_writechar

Table naming conventions
Folks, I am new to rails. I have tried Google searches, checked the tips and doco and can''t find the answer to a simple question. I have a table called "Activity" that I want to rename so I can use RubyOnRails but I don''t know whether the plural form should be "Activitys" or "Activities". Can someone illuminate me on what to do? regards Simon

lmer, p-values and all that
Hello, I've just located the illuminating explanation by Douglas Bates on degrees of freedom in mixed models. The take-home message appears to be: don't trust the p-values from lme. Questions: Should I give up hypothesis testing for fixed effects terms in mixed models? Has my time spent reading Pinheiro & Bates been in vain? Is there a publication on this issue? Thanks, Dan Bebber
