X-UID gaps cause Dovecot/IMAP to hang

I'm not familiar enough with Dovecot to offer a patch, but if anybody feels they can fix this or needs more information, please let me know. LIST problem with Dovecot1.1beta10
...t "" Trash" <*** Unbalanced quote causes total lockup! It appears that Squirrelmail, and possibly others, are using the LIST command to test for the presence of a mailbox, but it seems impossible to get an exact match. Am I missing something here? -- Dean Brooks dean at iglou.com

dirsize quotas crashing 1.0.rc19
...anyone successfully using dirsize:storage quotas with 1.0rc19? If so, can someone else verify if they see crashes like this? As soon as I remove the quota plugin, the crashes go away and all is good, so there's obviously some sort of problem in the quota plugin. Regards, Dean Brooks dean at iglou.com

rmdir() warnings with 1.1.rc1
...r on Solaris states: EBUSY The directory to be removed is the mount point for a mounted file system. We are using /var/mail mounted from NFS, which explains the EBUSY return code. Not sure how you would be able to get the cache flushed in this situation. -- Dean Brooks dean at iglou.com

Delay on failed pw attempts
...hat would put in an artificial delay after a failed password attempt? As it stands now, Dovecot seems highly vulnerable to widescale brute-force password dictionary scans. Even if it's not configurable, can a delay be hardcoded to something like, say, 10 or 15 seconds? -- Dean Brooks dean at iglou.com

Quota crashing w/ gdb backtrace
...= (void *) 0xd9354 (gdb) print &data $3 = (void **) 0xffbef0dc I've noticed that the copy (during a move) *does* complete correctly. However, the original files never gets deleted, so I assume that this crash is occuring during the deletion in the original folder. -- Dean Brooks dean at iglou.com

Re-write callerid?
Is it possible to rewrite caller id's? I would like to have sip phones appear by their local cid (like Henk <208>) but when they call out using the PRI I would like their full DID (MSN) to appear (like 0031201234567) I could ofcourse set callerid to the main phonenumber but surely there must be a better solution? Thanks!! Remco

UID inserted in the middle of mailbox errors
...as able to detect index inconsistencies and mark the index invalid. Any help is much appreciated. Even a quick stopgap fix would be a lifesaver, short of a cronjob that just purges everyone's index files every 2 hours (which sort of defeats the point of using Dovecot). -- Dean Brooks dean at iglou.com

Quick fix for nfs-workarounds.c
...ith files still in it. Dovecot 1.1beta9 currently gives tons of errors in the logfile as a result of the code not checking for the right error value. The function nfs_flush_file_handle_cache_dir() in nfs-worksarounds.c probably needs to reflect EEXIST as well as ENOTEMPTY. -- Dean Brooks dean at iglou.com

Dirsize quotas with 1.1beta9
...er 1.1beta9? I can get them to reflect the size of the INBOX properly, but it never seems to be adding up the size of the files in the folder directory itself. I'll keep hammering away at it if others are able to use dirsize with no problems, but wanted to check first. -- Dean Brooks dean at iglou.com

It appears there may be a typographical error. Specifically, 3.6.1p1 shows: /* Only set socket options if using a socket. */ if (!packet_connection_is_on_socket(...

I'll try to stay away from this list and Dovecot in general for the next 1,5 weeks. I've several exams coming up and I should have started studying for them days ago already.. :)

Embedded From_ lines breaking Content-Length (and Dovecot)
I feel like I'm going totally crazy. Is it just me, or have embedded From_ lines really been breaking mbox messages since (at least) dovecot 1.0? I found a whole lot of broken messages in an old mailbox of mine and when I looked closer at it, it seemed like Dovecot was ignoring the Content-Length header and truncating the messages at the first embedded From_ line instead.
