Network browsing with through OpenVPN
...eways at the 'exit' of each one of these LANs.
The VPN seems to be OK, as I can ping network hosts from one LAN to
another using their private IP addresses with no problem at all.
However network browsing through the VPN is not working.
The network diagram for my setup is at
http://www.igloo.cl/~pink/network.jpg if you're willing to take a look
at it.
This is the detailed setup I have:
* I have three networks with a public IP address each, called
'2norte', '4norte' and '6norte', respectively.
* Each of the Linux gateways has five network interfaces:...

these users/groups won't exist locally on the fileserver.
I don't know which would be the best set up for reaching out this,
should I use NIS, LDAP, winbind, etc.?
I would really appreciate your suggestions.

ANN: Alaska.rb - Polar bears, igloos and sled dogs... oh my!
Is anyone else here from Alaska interested in a ruby users group to meet in
Anchorage once a month? It might be a long shot but I thought i''d put the
possibility of such a group out there if others are interested.
If so, we''ll coordinate some times that work.

Pentium Samba server?
I have got an old pentium back. It is an Intel 66Mhz processor, 16MB RAM and
a 2 gigabyte harddrive. Could it be used as a dedicated samba server and
what Linux disto would work well? I was thinking of Debian 3 or Slackware.
Can samba act as a 2000 PDC?

WinNT -> samba -> Linux -> NFS -> Solaris
I have Solaris machines that I'd like to use to
gain access to SMB shared drives. I can get a Linux box to
mount SMB shares via samba. I can get a Solaris box to access
files on a Linux box using NFS. Can I get the Solaris box to
access files on the Linux box, which actually are mounted to SMB
shares using samba (smbmount) on the Linux box?
Is there any documents for this?
Thanks

(no subject)
Hello!
I trying to setup Domain Controller with Samba,
but I have some trouble.
As I understood, I ought to create "Trust Account" for
every mashine, and if mashine name is "vasya" then
account should be "vasya$"
but FreeBSD is not allowed to create accounts with "$" characters,
what should I do ?
Thanks!

Samba-based Linux fileserver using account info from another Linux box
...ogon (ie. via a logon
script cmd) and hopefully to be able to create the directories on the
fileserver on demand (user logs onto the network for the first time,
Samba checks out the user on the mail server, if OK and local home dir
doesn't exists, create it).

I'm using Debian Sid for amd64. My graphic card is a GeForce 8200.
I have RandR enabled and two monitors.
I attach my kernel log. The issue occurs at 19:02. These are the most useful

[FORGED] r-base is already the newest version (3.5.2-1bionic)
Rolf,
I think it may help to read-up on dpkg and apt. Instead of 'whereis' do
dpkg -l r-base-core
to see the content of that package. Use
apt-cache policy r-base-core
to see what the package cache says about where it gets the package from. And
so on. Also
type -p R
which R
will tell where your system thinks R comes from. If you install R 3.5.2 you
should not see R 3.5.1.

I am trying to run ss.exe using builtin DLLs. No luck at all:(
It seems it fails to send the message (sendmsg?) somewhere.
At the end, I get windows message box with the error.
Any ideas?
BTW, why does it ask username and password in console?

Sergey
