OT: iscsi target bind to two addresses?
Does anyone know off hand how to bind iscsi enterprise target to two distinct addresses. Lets say I have a machine that has a bunch of interfaces on it, with different subnets. Rather than have ietd broadcast itself on all interfaces (the default), I would like to limit it to only two interfaces. I have edited the init.d startup script with --address x.x.x.x which works, but I tried using the --address argument twice, and the second time is ignored. I also tried x.x.x.x,y.y.y.y which also f...

BUG: soft lockup detected on CPU#?
...n annoying problem that I thought worthy of a post. Config: I have 2 x HP DL585 servers each with 4 Dual core Opterons (non-vmx) and 16GB RAM configured as Xen servers. These run CentOS 5.1 with the latest updates applied. These system both attach to an iSCSI target which is an HP DL385 running ietd and serving SAN based storage. I have a test VM running CentOS 5.1 also updated. Problem: If I run the VM on a single server everything is OK. If I do a migrate of the VM to the other server I start getting random "BUG: soft lockup detected on CPU#?" messages on the VM console. The m...

Possible to run iscsi-target and initiator on same server?
...- CentOS 5.3 kernel 2.6.18-164.el5 - iscsitarget-1.4.18-1 - iscsi-initiator-utils-6.2.0.868-0.18.el5_3.1 I can discover and login to the node using iscsiadm on the server that is not also running iet, and see the new scsi disk. When I try to login using iscsiadm on the server that is running the ietd daemon, I see packets going over the lo interface in both directions, but I get error 8 - connection timed out. Wireshark is reporting TCP Previous segment lost errors with large sequence numbers like 2999833 and 8999718. Has anybody tried this, and can anybody offer any help? Thanks. Linus

Issues with iSCSI, Hosts Crashing
...2 file system. The nodes that are part of the OCFS2 cluster use the file system as a shared storage area for VMware Virtual Machines. I'm experiencing a problem, though, with the Openfiler setup. When you create a new iSCSI volume in Openfiler, it restarts the iSCSI Enterprise Target daemon (ietd). This causes the OCFS2 nodes to see a problem on the iSCSI storage. The problem usually lasts around a second - only as long as it takes the daemon to restart and the nodes to attempt the next connection. OCFS2 seems to have a big problem with this and causes the machines to crash. My second...

Migration Problem
...scribed this config to the list before but here it is again: I have 2 x HP DL585 servers each with 4 Dual core Opterons (non-vmx) and 16GB RAM configured as Xen servers. These run CentOS 5.1 with the latest updates applied. These system both attach to an iSCSI target which is an HP DL385 running ietd and serving SAN based storage. Everything runs fine if I do no migration. I was having a "soft lockup" problem which has been solved by installing the latest test kernel from redhat. They've adjusted a timer as described in this report (comment 5): https://bugzilla.redhat.com/sho...
