Cron job
...Is there a possibility that we can run MRTG command in seconds???? The only thing is know is we can run MRTG in one minute other than standard 5 minutes.... logrotate problem

How to rsync selective subdirectories
...ture is something like following: List of files in /abc/dir/ 20020811 20020812 20020814 20020815 (where directory name above is the date, and daily changes i.e. directories are added and deleted) list of files in /abc/dir/20020811 toid toil etd dt (all the date directories contain the directories as above and there are many subdirectories in the aboce directories) I want to rsync all the dates directories but only the "toid" subdirectory. How to export X displays
I have a CentOS server at home and want to view the X display on a laptop running Ubuntu, and not having much success. Here's what's been tried so far: I ran this command on the CentOS server: export DISPLAY=192.168.0.18:0.0 And ran this command on the Ubuntu laptop: xauth +192.168.0.2 When I try to run, say, xclock on the Ubuntu laptop, this is the error message I'm getting:

flex package marked as fc6 and no flex-devel?
Hi all, I'm in the middle of setting up a build environment for OpenWRT and it looks like the packages need flex. Looking at the CentOS repositories, it looks as though the flex package is tagged as fc6 - it also looks like there is no flex-devel package at all. Does anyone know what the go is here? restrict network access
Hi, I have two pc using centos 4, these machines need only access to the (big, class b) local network. Because of security reasons the network access should be restricted to this local network - mainly the users of these pc should not be able to access webpages outside of the local network. hi there, i have a centos box with phpmyadmin installed, but i don't remember how i installed phpmyadmin 2.7.0-pl2. now i want to upgrade it with yum, but i don't find any phpmyadmin on my centos box. i tried: rpm -qa | grep phpmyadmi, but found nothing. is there an easy way to upgrade phpmyadmin? thanks, T. ...i have installed logrotation package in BSD, the script runs every night at 3:00 pm night and makes filename.1.gz. but when i use less command to see this gz file it says "do u want to see binary file??" through which utility i can see the contants of the file??? vsftp and nonpriv_user option question
thhis didnt go through completely the first time. I am a bit confused as to how this works. I created a local unpriveleged user (with /bin/nologin shell). i uncommented the line containing nopriv_user=ftpsecure and restarted vsftp. I am confused as to what is supposed to happen. Shuld the daemon /usr/sbin/vsftpd be run as root or should it be ftpsecure? Or is the account only used to

yum proxy username with @ character
Hi, I am having problem with setting up the proxy for yum correctly. I have got no influence on proxy policy or authentication methods. The proxy username contains the '@' character. My question is if there is any way how to enter the username correctly into the yum.conf. I tried many ways but has not been successful yet. Many thanks, David
