Icecast Startup Failed
Hello, my name Johanes. First I'm sorry because I can't speak English well. And this is the first time I use Icecast. I have installed icecast2 use the standard Ubuntu installation (apt-get install icecast2). I also have configured # Edit /etc/icecast2/icecast.xml (only to change the passwords) and change "ENABLE=true" in /etc/default/icecast2. My question : When I tried to

Icecast 2 on ubuntu 14 - service will not start using /etc/init.d
whomever posted I can quite follow, either Jeff or Jose, this /etc/init.d/icecast2 is actually included in the startup ? Check with ls /etc/rc* | grep icecast2 I am working on ubuntu and we don't have an /etc/rc. we have /etc/init.d and there is an /etc/init.d/icecast2 file there. Interesting, I manually started the icecast2 and I shut it down using the /etc/init.d/icecast2 stop. On

Icecast 2 on ubuntu 14 - service will not start using /etc/init.d
I am not sure what I other than start the service manually, stopped it using the /etc/init.d/icecast2 stop. Then, I checked to see if it was still 'active and running' and it wasn't. I ran /etc/init.d/icecast2 start and it started. Thanks for the pointers. On 2015-08-25 11:21, Nick at 4points.ca wrote: > Update. > > /etc/init.d/icecast2 stop will stop the service that I

startup script for icecast
Hello, I was wondering about the feasibility of including a startup script for icecast for redhat/fedora installs? I've had to do an rpm install on an fc4 box, and a source install, rpms couldn't be found for an rh9 machine, yah i know that's old. And in both cases i had to drop in a custom-made startup script, see below. I was wondering esepcially in the case of the rpm, and

intended login protocol for icecast2
well, don't get me wrong, I am not generally opposed to progress, but speaking as a coder of source clients, providing yet another authentication mechanism is a bit frustrating.... I guess it wasn't too bad having to deal with Shoutcast/Icecast/Icecast2 specific connection protocols (yes they are ALL different!) but I am NOT going to support Shoutcast/ICecast/Icecast2 (ICE

Problem installing icecast2
I installed icecast 2.40 using the standard apt-get install command on my Debian 8.2 (Weezie) system, but I accidentally chose the incorrect answer to the dialog asking if I wanted to answer configuration questions or edit the XML myself. I then removed icecast2 in the normal 'apt-get remove' manner. I followed this by executing the install command again. Icecast2 re-installed, but

Icecast Startup Failed
Hi, thanks for your response. Based from your advice I try to check the XML used the command "xmllint --noout /etc/icecast2/icecast.xml" . Because I got response "xmllint: command not found", I installed xmllint (sudo apt-get install libxml2-utils). After that, I check again (xmllint --noout /etc/icecast2/icecast.xml) and the result just return to the prompt (which means XML

Icecast won't start on system boot
Ya know, I think I'm going to uninstall whatever Icecast we have, then re-install it--after doing a backup first, of course! :-) This is just getting too weird. Icecast2, ezstream and reverse proxy
Hello Ezstream is working well locally with Icecast2 on port 8000 on a Debian Wheezy platform. However, I use a reverse proxy (Pound) to pass all requests from the Internet for x.mysite.com to backend localhost:8000 i.e. my Icecast2 server. This works fine, i.e. x.mysite.com brings up the Icecast2 Status page. My problem is with the ezstream xml configuration <url></url> setting which

Missing headers in Icecast2
Hi everybody, Assorgia and me, we have worked on the Flash client for Icecast2. We got successful results with: -Windows (Netscape, Mozilla, CompuServe, or Opera) -Macintosh and Linux(Netscape, Internet Explorer for Macintosh, Safari, AOL, Opera, or CompuServe) For Windows (Internet Explorer or AOL) some headers sent by Icecast2 are missing. These headers are sent by Icecast1 but NOT Icecast2
