html5 icecast video source client
Five years after initially posting to this list[0], I finally completed as browser-based video source client iceast. The code is here: https://gitlab.com/jamie/icecream As Romain Beauxis responded to my initial email, webrtc was unsuitable and websockets was the way to go. ices not quite random
Hello, I just got iceast + ices setup. I'm streaming from a playlist and it streams/play just fine, however, it doesn't seem to be that random. It is randomly picking through the first "grou" but not the rest. e.g. the playlist.txt file has full paths to the ogg files, which are in different subdirectorie...

RE: Problems Listening in WinAmp 2.x, 5.x
I have set up icecast2 and ices2 and am playing ogg files from a playlist. I can listen to stream in Linux using XMMS and Windows using FOOBAR2000. The documentation indicates that WinAmp 2.x and 5.x will work, but need to do tricks like use mountname with ".ogg" extension. When I do that in WinAmp 2.x and 5.x tries to connect and nothing. When in Admin in icecast, and view stats to

Iceacst Statistical Relay
Hello, I am using an external streaming client, known as SAM Broadcaster, and I would like to set up a statistical relay to "get" or show the number of listeners. This does not seem to work with the information entered from my iceast details, does this server, icecast2 (2.4.3), not support statistical relay "get" info? -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... behind a router
i've finally managed to stream in my network with icecast and muse. in the iceast.xml config file i had to specify 192.168.2.5 as my bind-address, my ip in my internal network (i'm behind a router) and from other computers in this network i could hear my streaming. but i would like to stream even out of my network. so i redirected port 8000 of the router to my internal ip...

Sacrilege, but...
...uivalent of something. - can I pay some money and get the non-open source version of that something that will run on my Linux box and work ?? I just want to stream some mp3 files. It can't surely be this hard, can it ?? [For those interested in details, my symptoms are this: latest release iceast, latest release ices, get listed on icecast.org, not listed on shoutcast.com; streaming works for a few minutes, then get stuttering and then client gives up and restarts; ices gives up after 10 minutes or so (whole process dies); listening locally (ie, on our 100Mbps LAN), get continual winkin...

CPU Utilization Weirdness

OK, am I missing something ??
...ems fine. Listening at home on my cable connection, sounds crap. I can receive lots of stuff from the Internet fine, but just not my stream. So, I must be missing something obvious. Sadly, my one complaint has to be that it seems difficult to find out what I'm missing. I've been to iceast.org, tried thumbing through deja, eventually found the source for ices and streamcast and liblame and gogo and goodness knows what else. But none of it seems to work. I'm not stupid, I've been running Linux systems for years and compiled up a load of stuff from scratch, but I can't...

Alternatively you could try checking out icecast from CVS, although I wouldn't recommend using the web interface to do it :) -Brendan > [For those interested in details, my symptoms are this: latest release > iceast, latest release ices, get listed on icecast.org, not listed on > shoutcast.com; streaming works for a few minutes, then get stuttering and > then client gives up and restarts; ices gives up after 10 minutes or so > (whole process dies); listening locally (ie, on our 100Mbps LAN), get &...

CPU Utilization Weirdness
...ast and ices up but point the output to null, i.e. (icecast -c icecast.conf > /dev/null 2> /devb/null &) again everything works fine but CPU usage is nearly 100% and CPU idle is always 0. I can still bring up other apps and their does not appear to performance degradation. Seems that when Iceast/Ices start, they grab all the CPU and then 'share' when they need to. Comments? I am going to download the 2.x from cvs and play around but I though I would ask --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe f...

CPU Utilization Weirdness
...e weekend and see what happens. Other alternative is to dedicate a machine to task running RH 6.2 but I don't really want to do that if I can at all avoid it. For the record, I am running 2 streams - different mount points but both using both the same port (8000). I am using the conf file for iceast, but am using command line parms for ices. Anyone have any other thoughts? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mark Woodson" <mwoodson@bacxs.com> To: <icecast@xiph.org> Sent: Monday, February 04, 2002 6:12 PM Subject: Re: [icecast] CPU Utilization Weirdness <p>> At...
