slow streaming
...but it changes nothing!
is it due to the client which handles poorly ogg stream?
Do I need more bandwith? I have xDSL with about 512K of upload bandwith with in fact 96-128K
available for icecast. What is the needed bandwidth for every listener and for a standard quality ?
Please try it on http://ianux.free.fr/listen.pls

smbpasswd -c /etc/samba/smb.conf -r SRV -U admin
(I use the same old and new 12 characters password)
I get the following error :
RAP2245: The password is shorter than required..

access and rights problems
I have a problem with share permission
I have a [homes] section (untouched from smb.conf.default) and other
shares
security is set to DOMAIN
when my users try to access samba, they see shares and their home named
as their NT login name
they can look into shares, but to access their home, windows ask them
user/password. But It has been already sent, as their home appears as
their login name

winbind and pam
does winbind necessarily use pam ?
because I use samba on a slackware 8.1 (which doesn't use pam) in domain
security mode and it seems like the authentification doesn't work (my
client can see shares bu con't write in it)

streaming through a firewall
I'm running the latest versions of icecast and ices on my linux
box behind a NATed network routed by another linux box with iptables.
The stream is available on the local network (i.e http://192.168.0.20:8000/example.ogg)
tested with winamp 5.
but the stream is not available on the net (i.e with the public IP)
I haved forwarded port 8000 on the router with the same lines I did for
eMule, FTP,

winbind
Hello!
I set debug level 10 to samba 2.2.0 and now see in log:
[2001/05/10 08:31:48, 10] smbd/uid.c:gid_to_sid(409)
gid_to_sid: winbind lookup for gid 5284 failed - trying local.
How can I say to samba to not try use winbind?

parsing log files
Hello,
I would like to get ip, date and client of each listener from
acces.log in order to get stats and put them on a php page and/or MySQL
base. I'm not a bash/sed/awk expert and I think this file is not easily
parsable.
What about making more easy to use log files ?
