ices - unable to compile
Thanks...this seems to have gotten me over the compiling "hump".
I get this when I run the ices binary:
./ices: error while loading shared libraries: libshout.so.1: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
Are there some path settings that I need ?

plotting a grid with color on a map
Hi all,
I have posted similar questions regarding this topic, but I just can't seem
to get over the hump and find a straightforward way to do this. I have
attached my file as a reference.
Basically, the attached file is a 5 degree by 5 degree grid of the the world
(2592 cells), most of them are NA's. I just want to be able to plot this
grid over a world map and color code the cells. For

MOS-test using package vegan
Dear all,
I am using MOStest in vegan to examine the hump-shaped of
a quadratic regression model.
In the manual of vegan, it mentions that the value of MOStest include
isHump.
My result showed the quadratic regression is hump-shaped according to the
p-value (nearly 0).
However, the value isHump did not show up.
Please kindly help where to find isHump.
Further, I do not understand the result of

Queue - how to jump to next member after NO ANSWER?
Hi all,
I have a Queue with 3 members:
SIP/100
SIP/200
SIP/300
When call arrives SIP/100 is ringing.. After given timeout ringing stops
but call is not routed to next member but SIP/100 starts ringing again.
I know that this is because SIP/100 is still available in the Queue but is
it any way to make a Queue witch strategy:
call SIP/100 - if it is BUSY, UNAVAILABLE, PAUSED or _NO_ANSWERED_

scatterplot smoothing using gam
All:
I am trying to use gam in a scatterplot smoothing problem.
The data being smoothed have greater 1000 observation and have
multiple "humps". I can smooth the data fine using a function
something like:
out <- ksmooth(x,y,"normal",bandwidth=0.25)
plot(x,out$y,type="l")
The problem is when I try to fit the same data using gam

Lattice: Plotting two densities on the same plot(s)?
I am trying to plot two density lines on the same graph. Using the
functions on the base package, I would go:
plot(density(x), col = 1)
lines(density(y), col = 2)
And I get two distinct (one-bump) density lines. When I try to do it
using lattice, I get two two-humped lines. (In other words, I think the
smoothing function is taking the next set of data points and smoothing them

accolade
I've been using R for several months now, in fact it was my intro to "real"
computer programming. It used to frustrate me no end, but lately I've
noticed my reaction has changed. Nowadays its much more like "wow, is that
cool, or what?". So I guess I've gotten over the hump of the learning
curve.
Comparing what I now do with R to my previous hodge-podge of

Winbind and email server
Folks,
Sincere apologies for asking this again, but I'm just not getting this to
work, and must be missing something here:
My company's network is based around a Windows 2003 server AD, with several
RHEL AS 3 boxes connected to it via samba (3.0.21c-1). ?This scheme works
very well. ?I've set up, and have successfully been using a sendmail-based
email system, too.

Not so complex CompleteConfiguration example of a Complete Configuration?
I am new to Puppet and very eager to apply it to a project.
But I am somewhat stymied by the learning curve. So far I''ve found
many very simple examples of how to modify a file or add a user and a
very complex example http://reductivelabs.com/trac/puppet/wiki/CompleteConfiguration
.
I have not been able to find any other examples of a total
configuration tree (ie /etc/puppet/*)

More efficient use of reshape?
Hi all,
I have played a bit with the "reshape" package and function along with
"melt" and "cast", but I feel I still don't have a good handle on how to
use them efficiently. Below I have included a application of "reshape" that
is rather clunky and I'm hoping someone can offer advice on how to use
reshape (or melt/cast) more efficiently.

select item based on previous select list selection?
So I have a select list with a list of items. When a user selects an
item, another select list should have its default selected item set to a
specific item (the default associated with the first select list).
This is in a form to create a new task. The first select list is a list
of parent tasks. When one selects the parent task, the clients select
list must default to the same client as its

Hello,
I'm looking for help on the best approach to get "multi-value" data fields into R for simple descriptive analysis.

I am new to this list and new to R, but I really want to get over the hump and get productive with it. Some help with how to best get the following data into R would be greatly appreciated. I have programming experience

[PATCH] Blackfin: cleanup astat/cc/hardware loop asm clobbers
Most asm statements clobber ASTAT bits (shifts, maxes, etc...) but do
declare the register as clobbered. Same thing with CC in a few places.
Some places make an attempt at clobbering some hardware loop registers,
but it's very incomplete compared with how many asm statements actually
use hardware loops.

That's a good idea. I just tried that and it copied no problem.

I have read rsync manual and several howtos on how to use rsync, still

I use openSUSE linux.
The repos are located in a multi-level directory structure, eg:
