Re: Fwd: Win32 services management?
Hi,
I am interested in implementing the 'createservice()' functionality
using the RPC protocol. I need this functionality badly, and I
understand it is not implemented.
I understand vaguely how this should be working and found some
documentation,
here: http://www.hsc.fr/ressources/articles/win_net_srv/
here:http://www.hsc.fr/ressources/articles/win_net_srv/well_known_named_pipes.html
and here:
http://www.hsc.fr/ressources/articles/win_net_srv/msrpc_srvsvc.html.
I guess the issue here is to use the same method used in the 'net'
command ('net.c...

Win32 services management?
Hi there,
I just saw samba added the "net rpc service" for Win32 service
management since 3.0.20, and it's fantastic. I used to use samba-tng
to do this job, but now I can use samba! However, I also found it has
limited usage. I cannot pass parameters when I start a service, and I
cannot create a new service, too.
Is there any plan for samba to extend this feature?

OES Samba question
We are currently running Open Enterprise Server from Novell and have been
migrating to Samba. We have ran into an issue where occasionally a user will
click on a directory and it will just sit there forever with an hour glass
or flashlight. If you go to the same directory through a command prompt and
do a dir on the directory it goes into a continuous loop and reads the
contents of the directory

GID 50 is "staff", which my user is a member of.
I can read and write to the share, but sometimes I
lose data. I can't figure out any pattern.
Just now, I downloaded a 2.4GB TAR file. It worked
perfectly. Then I go to extract the TAR, and about
25% of them are zero bytes.

privsep
i think our strategy for privsep is to just keep portable sync'd closely
with openbsd's tree, even though things will be broken wrt privsep for
many platforms. then we just get primary one's working and work out
issues as we go along. i'll start to work on sun and hp-ux again
tomorrow.

R hangs when hist() gets vector with a single value
Hi, I'm not sure if this is a bug or due to my ignorance of R syntax. I'm using
hist() to plot a sample set of data, some sets contain the same value (i.e.
3000, 3000, 3000, 3000). I find that hist() hangs when It gets to sets with a
single value. ....help ? ...victor
