Printing from Windows 2000
Hello all...I was having incredible difficulty in setting up my HP Color LaserJet 4500 to be shared on a Caldera 2.3 Linux server with access to it from Windows 2000 machines. I've been working about a week now (sadly enough) and I think I've made some progress mainly from information in newsgroups and online documentation. Multiple problems with 2.2.7a-0.2

Out of sheer desperation I have allowed root to log in (ie root is not an
invalid user), but the automatic adding of the computer to the domain
doesn't work.
Problem #3:
As far as I can tell, printer settings are supposed to work in 2.2.7a .
I have an HP4100dtn, HP4500, Konica 7055 (IP-304), and HP4600dn. I can
install the drivers for these printers just fine, and the drivers
automatically download. However, I can configure the driver; Any time I
make a setting change (like choosing 4100dtn or checking the duplex box),

I cranked the debug level to 10. Below is a transcript from the client log
file of a client trying to open a Properties dialog for the HP 4500
printer. I am puzzled as to why Samba would be looking for a user with the
name of a printer. Is this normal behavior? Anyway, about a minute after
the last log entry below, the client showed a dialog "Printer properties
cannot be

Printing under Wine - Mission Impossible?
Hello,
I've been trying to print under apps running with wine for a while.
In wine docs it says wine automatically detect CUPS printer. Well, I have
CUPS installed, everything prints great, except apps running under wine,
which say that no printers are installed.
CUPS version installed. Debian woody version - 1.1.14.3
Wine version installed. Prepackaged Deb 20021013.
Can anyone point me
