Call quality questions
...calls in on separate PSTN lines to Adtran TSU 600, into * server through T100P card. The hardware is not taxed at all with little over 20% proc utilization ever, low mem use, etc. All Phones are SNOM 200's with various firmware revisions from 2.2t to 2.3o. Any help is appreciated. 1. We have horrible sound quality regardless of the codec we use in the phone or specify in *. Has anyone else run into this early on and found a software fix? 2. Speakerphone will not work for playing VM messages, it chops the message into unintelligible fragments of audio. Any ideas? 3. Initially we have horribl...

Mac mail copy/delete problems w/1.0b2
Hi, Mac mail (a horribly mis-behaved client, it seems), has a horribly hard time deleting/copying large blocks of messages from one folder to another. The basic symptom is: 1. Select a bunch of messages 2. Click on delete 3. Wait for a _very_ long time. It also seems very slow on copying, so it may be the "trash fo...

stripped volume in 3.4.0qa5 with horrible read performance
...ugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=861423 and I then proceed to try 3.4.0qa5. I then find out that the bug was solved and I could use replicated stripped volume with the new version. Amazingly, write performance was quite astonishing. The problem I'm facing now is in the read process: It's horribly slow. When I open a file to edit using the gluster native client, it takes a few seconds and sometimes I got an error refering to file has been modified while I was editing it. There's a ruby application reading the files and I got continuously timeout errors. I'm using 4 bricks with Cent...

Horrible BUZZZZ noise when sounds/music play on SIP phone?
Hi, I've recently set Asterisk up, 1.0.2 version. With 1 x X100P card and 1 SIP phone. I've noticed some horrible buzz/rasping type of sounds! These seem to occur when * is trying to play back some audio or sound to me? E.g. If I have an exten rule which plays one of the music on hold files when I dial 800 lets say, I get a really loud buzz for about 2 seconds and then the music plays. E.g. 2. If I dial 500...

SIP + NAT = horrible mess
...Asterisk behind NAT. Sometimes the STUN server is flaky, sometimes the device isn't reachable if the connection is dropped and then put back on, sometimes it registers OK, sometimes it doesn't, etc. I've come to the same conclusion as the wiki: it's probably better to avoid this horrible mess by either using IAX or doing VPN. Letting the IAX option aside, are you aware of any SIP devices that support some simple, easy to use VPN protocol? Cheers, Jean-Michel.

Polycom 501 horrible echo
I have the following situation: Asterisk 1.2.1 25+ Polycom 501 telephones. Bootrom 2.6.2.0032 Application 1.6.2.0041 Some 501's local to my network, some across the great INTERNET divide. PRI connected to Sangoma card. Issue: horrible echo (and squeals, and "underwater-like" sound) on speaker phone when calling from extension to extension. echo not present when calling outbound using PRI or when receiving calls from PRI. echo not present when using handset or headset in any case. All gains, etc. are as listed in th...

Simple fix to horrible bug in Samba website CSS
Dear Folks, For a long time I have been unable to read the menu at the left of http://samba.org/ in my 1920x1440 display. All the menu items overwrite each other in a horrible, illegible jumble. I thought it might be a bug in firefox or something. Then I investigated, and found that there is actually a serious bug in the cascading style sheet for the web site. The problem is in /samba/style/main.css. The simple patch makes the menu suddenly amazingly readable: $ di...

Randomly and horribly slow
...XP partition. Trillian has more options and features than Pidgin so I preferred to use that. It ran fine, so I figured I'd install it. So I ran the setup. I don't remember if I changed anything before I ran the setup but ever since, every single program I run with Wine, even paint, goes horribly slow. It doesn't matter if its 3D or if its practically non graphical at all. I uninstalled Wine, removed the hidden files in my home folder, and even updated it to 1.0 but it still won't do anything. I disabled compiz and that made an unnoticeable performance difference. I tried disab...

SIP and ECHO
...as yet I have not been able to get rid of this echo. I have a Sip phone, Digium 4 Port FXS, and 3 Digium FXO cards installed into an asterisk server. If I call between the Sip Phone (Budgettone-100) and the 4 FXS ports everything sounds great. If I call out to the PSTN through the FXO cards I get horrible echo, I have even been able when talking loud enough to get a horrible feedback loop going. I have tried 4 different echo cancellers in the Makefile for the Zap drivers and nonoe of them changed the situation. I have echocancel = (Any where from 1 - 256, I have tried alot of different values), an...

Horrible MeetMe performance
Hey folks, Using FreeBSD 5.2.1 and I've got the current zaptel driver installed from ports (0.8_1) and current ports asterisk (1.0.1). I've set options HZ=1000 in my kernel config, recompiled and rebooted and as far as I can tell, I've done everything right but when I try to use the conference, the audio is very delayed, choppy and segmented -- totally unusable. [LLVMdev] [cfe-dev] RFC: Upcoming Build System Changes
...s or the make implementation details. The *ONLY* good reason to put this information inside CMake instead of external files is as a way to avoid a Python dependency at build time. However, the cost of doing so is incredibly high: * code to use this information in CMake must be written in CMake, a horrible horrible language which I in no way whatsoever believe should be inflicted on any more LLVM developers than necessary. * other tools to use this information must parse CMake files. Either they parse some incomplete subset (which then must be documented, etc.) or they have to deal more with the (s...

liveice sending horrible static noise?
Hi, I'm trying to get liveice to work on a YellowDog (powerpc) computer, and all I can get it to stream is an awful static noise. Listening carefully, I can barely hear the song in with the noise... Looking through the list archives, I see someone has posted a similar problem, and fixed it by undefining NUMBER_LITTLE_ENDIAN in liveice.h So I did, liveice.h:/* #define

Please excuse my ignorance, what is a mixice program? I am using LAME. So in lifeice.cfg: USE_LAME3 lame I did try forcing byte-swapping in LAME by setting ENCODER_ARGS in the liveice.cfg file, though I may have done it wrong liveice.cfg: USE_LAME3 lame ENCODER_ARGS -x -Jesse > >How are you encoding the stream?
