Hi I need a small PBX for use on the move. This means that outbound calls will need to be made over the cell phone network. Assuming a small hardware PBX with a spare mini-PCI slot or a USB slot then what hardware options do I have to get an outbound cellular channel? Hi, I'm no phone guy but I've been having quite a bit of fun messing with Asterisk. I just unwrapped my new Wildcard TDM400P (TDM40B) which is the new 4 port FXS PCI card. It has 4 RJ45 connectors and I'd like to hookup 4 regular phones which are RJ11. If I crip RJ45 connectors to the phone cords do I simple use the center two pins (pins 4 and 5)? This is just a low priority curiosity question because I have a usable workaround. I have Digium card that uses the Zaptel driver (can't get to my home machine right now to get the exact model, but it probably doesn't matter). It's a card with one POTS line and three extension hookups. I'm using Asterisk 1.4 and Zaptel 1.4.7 . One of the extension ports is connected to a modem on another computer.
