Samba and LDAP
Hi! I'm trying to install an ejabberd server on my network. Ejabberd supports LDAP - but when I tried to get it to work, it opened a whole can of worms. Basically where I'm at now, if I use ldapseaerch to try and search for, say, a username - I get NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE - so my question is, does samba have an ldap server build in, or do I need OpenLDAP?

...robably be an improvement. However, I think being able to decompress directly to the remote system would save more; elsewise I don't see how I'm going to be able to avoid untarring and uncompressing the whole xz file on the other end. thanks much, ed On Tue, Dec 6, 2016 at 8:36 PM, Mike Hodson <mystica at gmail.com> wrote: > On Tue, Dec 6, 2016 at 8:07 PM, Ed Peschko <horos22 at gmail.com> wrote: >> >> All, >> >> I'm working in an environment *very* restricted by space, and need to >> sync from that location to another location. >> &...

Mongrel/Apache mod_deflate question
Hi Folks, We''re moving from a single lighttpd-hosted Rails box to a Apache/ mongrel cluster. In lighttpd, mod_compress had a very nice feature: if there''s a static file, it would compress it in a user-specified compress folder. If the file hasn''t changed, it would just serve out the compress file; if the file has changed, it would recompress it and serve it out.

mongrel becoming unresponsive
Hello, I''m running mongrel behind apache via proxypass. Every now and then, a spammer tries to proxy traffic through apache, and for some reason, apache forwards the request to mongrel, even though it''s not a site being hosted by me. At times this seems to cause mongrel to become unresponsive, and all requests to the site then fail with a proxy error until mongrel is

Icecast2 ?
Since I am on a limited upload connection, but still want to stream high-quality music for friends (I do have a colocated server on the outside, but getting music there in the first place is the hard part) I am thinking of using OGG/Vorbis streaming, ~64kbit. However, I can't find icecast 2 beta to download. Can someone point me in the right place? Thanks Mike --
