I'm having an issue with WINE and HL2 and games on steam. I am a new Linux user (sorry). I can't get HL2 or any games to go true fullscreen to cover my panels on the top and bottom and also in Audiosurf and HL2 and whatnot I can't get the cursor to register properly. every thing was ok since 0.9.5x than i cant run it any more. I thought it is a bug and it will be fixed, but since we are waiting for the final version and it is still won fixed, i am a little worried.

I am running wine 1.10 with the latest nVidia drivers, the 180 series. Now, everytime I shoot at the glass, or somebody breaks it, hl2 crashes without any unusual output. Just all it does is exit. Even if I throw a grenade, and go away, it will crash when I return to the place and make it load the picture. Any help will be appreciated!

Hello, I'm trying to run Team Fortress 2 on Linux using Wine 1.0. I tried starting the game from Steam, but it shows the loading TF2 window, then closes and never starts the game. I know the game isn't supposed to run on Linux, but I have a question about gameinfo.txt. I tried starting hl2.exe in: /.wine/drive_c/Program Files/steam/steamapps\*user*\team fortress 2 folder, but it said I didn't have a gaminfo.txt in the hl2 directory. ...e same time is almost impossible), very active use of HDD, and even after hours of intensive HDD digging and system resource hogging there is no visible result - the wine apparently has aborted. I'd be happy to hear how should I diagnose the problem. Or, maybe my system is just too poor to run HL2 over wine in Linux. Maybe there is some problem in some settings?

...o I can enjoy it even more, it even ran faster with those settings. And after an hour of playing, it crashes, and whines about memory. Ok, I restart it, run it again, and after 15 minutes, it crashes again. And with every restart of the game, it crashes faster. So, screw that, I'll go play some HL2. Well, it was good, got around 60FPS at most places, but when it has to delete temporary saves, it just can't. There is nothing strange in the output, but the lines: "Can't delete /blah/blah/.wine/halflife/hl2/SAVE!" Am I the only one here ?

I cant for the life of me launch ANY of the source engine games. The only game i got working is WoW. I tried everything on the bug list, still no hope. Is the GTX 465 unsupported by wine? Im new with ubuntu btw so im not sure, but i never had this problem with 9.x ubuntu with my 8600m GT. It could also be AMD? This guy here cant get the game to work too.

Yesterday I downloaded and installed the latest version of Ubuntu 8.10 64 bit, and after setting up my hardware I installed Wine 1.1.12, and have been working on getting HL2 running, but with little/no success.
