forecasting linear regression from lagged variable
I'm currently working with some time series data with the xts package, and would like to generate a forecast 12 periods into the future. There are limited observations, so I am unable to use an ARIMA model for the forecast. Here's the regression setup, after converting everything from zoo objects to vectors. hire.total.lag1 <- lag(hire.total, lag=-1, na.pad=TRUE) lm.model <-

large memory usage by perl .so modules?
Under Centos 5.5 on an x86_64 box I am seeing large memory usage associated with perl .so modules. Example: this script: #!/usr/bin/perl use Time::HiRes; open(SMAPS, "/proc/$$/smaps"); while (<SMAPS>) { if (m/^\d/) { chomp($lib = (split(' ', $_))[5]); } elsif (m/^Size:\s*(\d+.*)/) { my $size = $1; print "$size $lib\n" if ($lib =~ m/HiRes/); } } produces this output: 24 kB /usr/lib64/perl5/5.8.8...

Hire person to convert R code to SAS
It would make much more sense to convert in the opposite direction. Frank willsurg wrote > > I am looking to hire someone to convert a small bit of R code into SAS > code. The R code is about 2 word pages long and uses Snell's law to > convert likert scales. If you are willing to look at this, or could point > me to someone who would, it would be very much appreciated.

Color coding table rows depending on an attribute
I need to show a different background color depending on the type of comment posted. The type of comment is determined from a drop-down selection. I figured the simplest way would be to do something like I have below, but I can''t seem to get it to work: <tr <%= puts ''"style = "background: red;"'' if comment.comment_type == ''Hiring

AstTapi - Crashes w/ Windows 2000 - UrgentHelpneeded - May need to hire a developer
I have it running on my Windows 2000 mahcine using STI products and don't have much of a problem. I would guess that it might be something on the workstations instead of the AstTAPI. Also, might be a little faster, easier, cheaper to just upgrade your existing workstations? Just a thought. Feel free to contact me off list if you would like. Thanks, Dustin -----Original Message-----

How to hire a samba developer?
I'm curious about how one would go about contacting/hiring a samba developer to fix a bug, or implement a feature. I've got a particular bug in mind (1493), but it seems like it would be a good thing to know in general. Thanks, Mark Roach

When we select the Asterisk TAPI driver, the whole windows just closes/crashes w/ no apparent
