Calling Number Verification Number? for BellSouth/AT&T
BellSouth (now AT&T) has a number you can dial and it will play back
voice prompts with your calling number? It's used by their techs with a
buttset in identifying analog 1FB lines...
Eg Dial 704-210-3233, it answers
"Seven-Zero-Four-Five-Five-Nine-Two-One-Two-Two" if your dialing from

ssh user equivalence
We are getting some pushback from our SA group regarding root having ssh
user equivalence on the cluster where we run OCFS2.
Is it required to have the ssh user equivalence setup for the root user
when running OCFS2 ?
Thanks in advance,
Reid

compiling samba 4.7.1 on centos 7
Hello,
I am trying to compile an rpm of samba 4.7.1 on centos 7. I have everything compiling but the problem is when I go to install the rpms, yum complains that samba-python requires libdnsserver-common-samba4.so. That file is part of samba-dc-libs which I believe doesn't work on centos 7 due to incompatibility with mit-kerberos. Does anyone know if there is a way to build this file without

vectorizing an iterative process.
Hi Everyone,
I am stuck with a simple problem. Suppose I have a vector x, and I want
to calculate y[i]=3Dx[i+1]-x[i], it is very easy. I just need to write
y<-x[2:length(x)]-x[1:length(x)-1].
Now if I know y, and want to know the vector x defined by
x[i]=3Dx[i-1]+y[i-1] for all i, how can I do this without a loop?
Thanks,
Geoffrey

Invoking SAS in order to use sas.get
I am trying to use the sas.get function to bring a SAS dataset into R.
After calling the sas.get function I got an error message stating that
'sas' is not a recognized internal or external command, etc. I am
guessing that I need to specify the internal command to invoke SAS in
the sasprog option for the sas.get function, but I don't know how to
determine what that command might be.

Centos-specific Denyhosts Howto Anyone?
Hi, after reading the docs (no man page) and seeing a few example
howtos, I see none for Centos specifically.
I hereby offer to write this and even host it, and any other wiki-able
howto you want, if you can school me on the first few steps relevant to
how to link up the current rpmforge rpm for RHEL4-64. See, right now,
the one for centos loads into the /usr/share/doc, which is an odd place

I hereby would like to ask for write permissions to the CentOS wiki.
I've just created a new account. My username is "Karol Babioch" [1].
I mainly want to help with German translations, as I've spotted some

On top of that I would also like to ask for a personal homepage, so I

Averate memory usage trend
Hi,
I would like to understand how to draw a graph to find out the
average memory used by a single httpd process given these details
collected over a period of
several days. I code R but this is about a method to find an average
memory utilization. I believe I have enough data.
How should I statistically calculate this ?
The figures inside braces are the total httpd processes at

ocfs2console is slow
Ever since we have installed OCFS2, we have had extremely slow
performance in the ocfs2console. It can take us over 30 minutes to do
the simplest tasks.
We do not have this type of performance with other xwindows applications
on our server.
Does anyone have any performance improvement suggestions for the
ocfs2console?
Thanks,

Install R 2.3.1 on SUSE Linux
Hello:
I am new to Linux, and I am trying to install R 2.3.1 on SUSE Linux
10.0. The RPM installer, YAST, states that I need libgfortran.so.0.
I have loaded Intel FORTRAN and GCC FORTRAN; but I still do not have the
libgfortran.so.0 module YAST is asking for.
Is there somewhere I can get this module for SUSE Linux 10.0. There is a
post on the R-Help for this same problem; but I cannot seem to
