Reformat x axis
...at has dates stored as integers . I would like to have the X values displayed as dates. I realize I could do this by converting the x values to dates first, However, does R have the ability like SAS FORMAT, for example, of reformatting the values of variables as part of the plot routine? Newbie - Summarize function
Dear R Users, I have searched through the archives but I am still struggling to find a way to process the below dataset. I have a dataset that has stratum and plot identifier. Within each plot there is variable (Top) stating the number of measurments that should be used to to calculate the mean to the largest "top" elements within one of the vectors (X). I would like to process

Debian patched 3.6.6 winbindd fails.
Hi there, I manage a Samba installation which has been operating very well on Debian Wheezy for a number of years. Up until last week I was running 3.6.25, which (as always until now) I compiled myself. Because of the large number of changes in the recent security patches, I opted to try the Debian 'samba' and 'winbind' packages. I was a little horrified to find that Debian is

Can't install plugins on rails 3.0
Just upgraded one of my apps to Rails 3.0 and I cannot install plugins. I either get "Plugin not found", or an empty folder. When I run rails plugin --verbose install http://github.com/jslag/us-state-select-plugin.git I get this response: Plugins will be installed using http git init git pull --depth 1 http://github.com/jslag/us-state-select-plugin.git But all I get is an empty

Mirror problems.
Hi there, I just tried a couple of ftp mirrors to grab the latest OpenSSH. ftp://ftp.solnet.ch/mirror/OpenBSD/OpenSSH/portable/ replies with a 550 and ftp://ftp.dragonbsd.swiss-anime.ch/pub/OpenBSD/OpenSSH/portable/ doesn't seem to have been updated since May. They were the first two I tried. Why me??? :) 73, Ged.

smbd crashes on Debian Lenny if using Debian's
Hi there, Installed the latest stable Samba (3.5.1) from the source tarball on a fresh, minimal Debian Lenny server. It took me three days to figure out why the Samba daemon wouldn't run. The crux of it is this: ====================================================================== [2010/03/17 15:11:17.973219, 0] lib/fault.c:46(fault_report)

Multiple daemon log files.
Hi there, Been around Linux a while, new to Samba, know nothing about Windows. Installed Samba on vanilla Debian Lenny, the package manager gave me Samba 3.2.5, and it didn't work. Searching revealed that there are problems with that release so I tried a source install. Never did like Debian-out-of-date-and-patched-to-hell stuff anyway. The source install default locations are everywhere

Win2k auth on named share fails on mixed Windows network.
Hi there, Background: Samba 3.6.6 compiled from source on Debian Squeeze using the Debian- installed Kerberos (1.8.3) libraries. Running in an Active directory domain with mixed Win2k Server and Win2k3 Server DCs. Yes, I've been trying to persuade them. Both WINS and DNS name resolution work on the system. Samba uses the DCs for WINS, and the DCs are also name servers with an additional

sambaID
I am receiving the following error message in my slapd.conf file. index attribute "sambaID" undefined. I am running Samba 3.0.2 on a Linux Enterprise 3.0 server. I have the samba.schema in my /etc/openldap/schema directory. Obviously the sambaID is not in the samba schema file. Is there an updated copy of the samba schema file for version 3.0.2? I have looked. Thank you Susan

Scoping option_groups_from_collection_for_select
How can I scope the options returned by option_groups_from_collection_for_select? Method calls look like this: option_groups_from_collection_for_select (collection, group_method, group_label_method, option_key_method, option_value_method, selected_key = nil) But say I want to limit the results returned by the option_key and option_value methods to some particular scope? For instance, using the
