mount a share on a W2k server
...group, I try to mount a share on a W2k server box with samba (from a Fedora 2.6.5 machine) without success. Doing the same with a NT Server machine in the same LAN works perfectly. It seems that it's a problem of the password (encryption ?? digitally sign communications are disabled !!). [root@hase root]# mount -t smb -o username=myname //w2kserver/bck Password: 32546: session setup failed: ERRDOS - ERRnoaccess (Access denied.) SMB connection failed [root@hase root]# But anonymous login works: [root@hase root]# smbclient -L //10.1.1.123 -N Anonymous login successful Domain=[IST] OS=[Windo...

How to track attempted breakins, authentication failure logging
This may have been asked before, but I can't find it. I am getting repeated external attempted to log into our AD/DC (running Samba 4.4.14). In /var/log/samba/log.samba I get entried like: 2017/09/19 05:02:25.562957, 2] ../source4/auth/ntlm/auth.c:430(auth_check_password_recv) auth_check_password_recv: sam_ignoredomain authentication for user [HPRS\333] FAILED with error

Color font in verbatim text output in Shiny
Hello! Is there any way to change the colors (and other characteristics) of the font that is being used by Shiny when the ui.r code hase some verbatimTextOutput? Success: Digitus DN-170020
Hello, just want to report a successful installation of the Digitus DN-170020 UPS. Works mostly without problems with the megatec driver and the included cable, a few issues arose: - the toggle beeper command seems not to work for this UPS. - to shutdown and cut the power line, a delay has to be inserted for the driver; without the UPS just beeps but does not switch off. - the test commands do

smbd/password.c:domain_client_validate(1604)
All, we have a SAMBA server set up that has been working great for everyone in the corporate office, not to long ago I connected one of our foreigh offices to us through a VPN. All of our users authenticate to our PDC, our users in our foreign office, who is on the same domain but we have them on a different subnet, are not able to gain access to the SAMBA shares, here in the corporate office.

A few questions and propostions on the samba architecture
...chitecture would be something like password tokens, but keep in mind this is just a thought. The password passed on to ldap auth could be, if the user has an attriblue like "requreToken", stripped of like the last 6 chars, which represent the token. The password is matched against the hased password in the ldap user entry, the token is processed in an external app, if both are a success, login is fine. This propably would require kerberos tickets, as the password is constantly changing, but would introduce a lot of flexibility, for those who dare. In terms of internal scripting,...

[LLVMdev] [llvm-commits] Dealing with a corrupted /proc/self/exe link
...s in mind I really don't see why this has to be in the public > tree, requiring > additions to two build systems. Can't you just apply the one-line-patch to > Path.inc > locally? I agree, this patch as is doesn't belong in the tree... However, I suspect that Clang already hase the capability to solve this problem for you. For context, we run Clang in a distributed build environment not dissimilar to the one you are describing, and for us as well /proc/self/exe does not really help us locate the Clang binary. There is a switch available (-no-canonical-prefixes) which in...

WindowsXP Home and Samba 2.2.3a connection problems
OK, so I looked through all the archives and still can't find a solution. My server is running RedHat 7.2 with all the latest patches, Samba is also latest 2.2.3a with domain masters set as "yes" and passwords NOT set as encrypt, because when I do turn it on, none of the Win98 boxes can log on (even when I tried to create non-blank password account). All Win98 boxes login

FC5: "ext_attr" and "large_file" features for ext3 file systems ???
Hi, Fedora Core ext3 file systems newbie questions: Just interested in the Linux ext3 features but got confused with "large_file" and "ext_attr". First, what's the "large_file" feature REALLY means? For file systems created with same commands and options some file systems have it on while some not. It is said that the feature is automatic -- If there is a

How to track attempted breakins, authentication failure logging
Hai Mark, I see the bugreport for this is still untouched. https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=11998 Is vfs_full_audit not an option? with %I you can log the IP address of the client machine. But i dont know if that wil work of if vfs_full_audit hase that option. With something like this. full_audit:prefix = %u|%I|%m|%S full_audit:failure = connect full_audit:success = connect disconnect And maybe you need more options in failure and success. Logit regression, I observed different results for glm or lrm (Design) for ordered factor variables
...uld be) the GLM model with the ROC model coefficients are still comparable, but the LRM coefficients are completely different. I have looked up the Design package, and there is a function 'cr.setup', which sets up an ordinal logistic response, this is however not the case here. the model hase a binary response (0 or 1), a continuos predicter and a ordered grouping factor. Does anybody know what I am doing wrong ? Thanks for you time, Tom Disclaimer: click here [[alternative HTML version deleted]]
