User Privileges and Dtrace
...only processes they own?
The customer has a general security requirement to control user access via management of privileges. Currently, on Solaris 8, LDAP is strongly while RBAC is weakly applied. This will likely change in the Solaris 10 production environment.
Thanks,
Evans

Plotting a Quadratic...
...rably with a prediction interval around the line?
I have tried the lines() and predict() commands, using the linear model to
plot, but get very whacky results. abline works great but does not include
the quadratic term.
Any help you could provide would be much appreciated,
Ryan Harigan

Concern with randomForest
...procedure? Should I be removing variables not contributing to models before
running randomForest? This negative value seems contradictory to my standard
multiple regression results which indicate up to 58% of the variation
explained.
Thanks for you help on this, any comments are welcome!

Random Forest % Variation vs Psuedo-R^2?
...ained relate to? I find it interesting that
the %Var(y) is 130.42, and that the %Var explained is a very similar number,
but have no idea how they are related. From my calculations, it seems like I
have a good predictor set (Psuedo R^2 over 95%), but am I missing something?
Cheers,
Ryan

Differences between puppet and puppetd
Hi all,
I am using Puppet to execute an Expect script (http://expect.sourceforge.net)
on a client. The Puppet recipe, test.pp, is:
exec { ''/root/test.exp'':
command => ''/root/test.exp'',
logoutput => true
}
The recipe runs correctly when run using ''puppet --debug --verbose test.pp'':
debug: /Stage[main]//Exec[/root/test.exp]:

2.4.13 Stability?
Hiya,
Now that 2.4.13 has been release, any word on how stable ext3 is on this?
Hope they haven't broken anything in the vm again....;) I'm currently running
2.4.8 and I'm very happy with it and given the nightware over the past few
releases, just wanted to find out what the state-of-play is at the moment.
