strucchange Nyblom-Hansen Test?
I want to apply Nyblom-Hansen test with the strucchange package, but I don't know how is the correct way and what is the difference between the following two approaches (leeding to different results): data("longley") # 1. Approach: sctest(Employed ~ Year + GNP.deflator + GNP + Armed.Forces, data = longley, type...

[LLVMdev] About Implementation of Pettis-Hansen's / Gloy's Code Layout Transformation in LLVM
...ning to implement a profile guided optimization technique in LLVM. In the open source projects list of the LLVM site; I saw "code layout" is a transformation that can be worth looking at as it will use of profiles (possibly path profiles). So I was thinking of implementing either Pettis-Hansen's (Profile guided code positioning, Pettis & Hansen) or Gloy's (Procedure Placement Using Temporal-Ordering Information, Gloy, Smith) procedure placement algorithm in LLVM because first of all I have not seen any implementation of it in LLVM till** and second, these are the classic pro...

Problem with a printer
...ot cups setup, to do the printwork. A setup, that was used with 2.2.3a of samba (same smb.conf), but it fails with 2.2.5. When using smbclient or the spoot client to connect to the samba printer resource, it tells me that it's a bad network name. I got hooked on human-computer interaction in 1986, writing Pascal programs to help dad navigate a Tandy 1000SX. I followed a twisty path through engineering school to get...

mboot.c32, NUMA and tgz
...ease, but now it seems to hang forever when loading a .tgz file. Does mboot.c32 support tgz out of the box, or is this something VMware added in for ESXi? Do I need to recompile mboot or otherwise do something special to enable it? Is there a workaround for the previous memory issue? Thanks, Tim Hansen timbonicus.hansen at hp.com

[PATCH] VSOCK: Don't set sk_state to TCP_CLOSE before testing it

[PATCH v2 3/3] device-dax: Add system ram (add_memory()) with MHP_NO_FIRMWARE_MEMMAP

Maybe: /* * MHP_NO_FIRMWARE_MEMMAP ensures that future * kexec'd kernels will not treat this as RAM. */ Not a biggie, though. Acked-by: Dave Hansen <dave.hansen at linux.intel.com>

Regarding basic block layout/code placement optimizations of profile guided optimization (PGO)
Hi, I would like to learn the details regarding what exactly PGO does for basic block layout/code placement optimizations in llvm. Could you please point me to some descriptions? Is it close to this paper (Karl Pettis and Robert C. Hansen. 1990. Profile guided code positioning. PLDI'90) http://perso.ensta-paristech.fr/~bmonsuez/Cours/B6-4/Articles/papers15.pdf? Whether it is purely intra-procedural or include inter-procedural optimizations? Thank you so much! Best regards, Xiaowan -------------- next part -------------- An HT...
