Maintain VNC session across reboots?
Hello,
I have Ubuntu installed as a domU on the debian dom0, and connect via VNC
in dom0. This is great for doing installs, and seeing the console
output. However
the VNC session doesn''t seem to keep the active connection during a domU reboot.
Has anyone got this working?
If so, how?

X86_64 and 4GB RAM
Hello,
I have an odd problem on a dual processor, dual core Opteron system.
Obviosously it is x86_64 so should have no problem large amounts of
RAM. The system has 4 GB installed (2GB on each processor).
If I boot the system with a fresh install of Debian Etch it sees all the memory
fine. dmesg reports:
Memory: 4107008k/5242880k available (1929k kernel code, 86836k
reserved, 864k data, 176k

Re: [Xen‑users] Should I use HVM?
...s one thing.
But if you''re going to spend money to get the server, you might as well
set yourself for the future.
HTH.

xenconsoled
Hello,
Is there any documention on "xenconsoled" ?
(I have installed xen from source)
/usr/sbin/xenconsoled --help
Usage: /usr/sbin/xenconsoled [-h] [-V] [-v] [-i]
What do the different options mean?
Should xenconsoled always be running, even when no "xm console" commands
are active? I killed it in error, but now need to know how to start it
with it''s default

config file parsing, tab characters
Hello,
I am using the latest dovecot 1.1.2 with postfix, and using doveco
deliver command for LDA.
I really love dovecot, and how it has progressed over the years.
However I have noticed that
if I put a TAB character in the dovecot.conf file, it sometimes does
not parse the file correctlty,
and complains about missing postmaster_address etc, even though they are there.
So I reformated my

dom0 iptables FORWARD default DROP?
Hello,
What is the best policy for the FORWARD chain in dom0 iptables?
Can I use a default DROP policy?
I notice when domains are created it adds the extra rules to the
FORWARD chain, to
allow traffic to the guests. However, if iptables is restarted, all
these rules are lost.
Do I need a rule per VPS, or can I use a single catch all to handle all of them?

domU video modes supported by VNC?
Hello,
I have Ubuntu installed as a domU and can connect to it over VNC
running in dom0. However I cannot increase the resolution above 800x600.
I would really like 1024x786. In the Ubuntu guest it says there graphics card
is a VESA compatible, and only has 600x400 and 800x600 screen resolutions.
My domU config is shown below.
I have stdvga=0
I searched the mailing lists, and it said stdvga=1

3.0.4 ACPI support and Opteron 2210 ?
Hello,
I originally posted this to xen-users, but someone suggested I post it here.
I am having ACPI problems on a PenguinComputing Altus1600 system.
It has 2x dual core Opteron 2210 processors.
The system boots with a standard Debian or Ubuntu SMP kernel, with ACPI
enabled. However the xen live cd, binary xen install, as well as my own custom
compile of xen 3.0.4 from source will not boot.
