Gents, Thanks, yes definitely a permissions problem. Roger pointed me in the correct direction with the command to add logging for the script. I have the shutdown working now but need to tighten up the permissions. Not too sure where to start with assigning the correct permissions. Hewlett Packard Server support packs
I am trying to install the HP PSP on a CentOS 3.4 server but it keeps telling me, only on certain rpms mind you, that the OS is not supported. I have made the modifications to redhat-release which cleared up some of the initial errors I was having but not all. Where else would the rpms be getting the OS info from? Better yet, has anyone managed to get the Linux PSP to install on a CentOS

Hmisc binconf function value interpretation during narrow confidence intervals
Hello all, I've been using binconf (package Hmisc) at a range of alpha values and noticed that using the 'Wilson' method when alpha is larger (i.e. narrow CI), results in the upper value being smaller than the lower value. The 'exact' and 'asymptotic' methods give results in the realm I'd expect. But the help file suggests: "Following Agresti and Coull, the

NetBIOS Hostname
I was setting up Samba on an OpenSuSE 10.3 i386 computer. At the last minute I decided to enter a NetBIOS Hostname, big mistake. A message popped up warning me that entering a NetBIOS Hostname would create a new UID and Clients may no longer be able to connect. The Message was correct.... However, (Design Flaw) at that point there was no way for me to back out or cancel, so the deed was done.

(Deepayan, if you're out there, I have your book and must admit the answer isn't jumping out at me.) thanks in advance! Michael Folkes example code: #____________________________
