restricting rsync over ssh
...han from rsyncd as in a
direct connect.
If so, I am trying to find the best way to restrict rsync -e ssh on the
remote machine. Prepending the authorized_keys entry with
command='rsync ...' 1024... results in the 'Protocol mismatch - is your
shell clean?' error.

Hamm, I should have used bi_phys_segments to decide if
merge is needed, and attached patch should fix the problem.

Build problems with libshout on Mac OS X 10.2
...39;7',
'8', '9', 'a', 'b', 'c', 'd', 'e', 'f' };
Apparently Apple's gcc (or maybe its just gcc 3.1) (stupidly) has
issues with literal strings without \0 terminators.
Just thought this might interest someone...

SSH security hole found
...om http://lwn.net/#security
A vulnerability present in the SSH software package can allow an
attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the SSH server. To protect
against this, immediately upgrade to ssh 1.2.25. Red Hat ssh-1.2.25 RPMs
are available, as is the Debian ssh-1.1.25 package for hamm (Debian
2.0-to-be).
There are SSH 1.2.25 RPMs here:
ftp://ftp.fi.muni.cz/pub/ssh/local-fi.muni.cz/linux/
The Debian ssh-1.2.25 package is available at:

problem with smbclient access to NT4.0 WS share
Thanks to all for a wonderful package. It's sharing fine from my
Debian box but smbclient isn't working the other way round. Here's
the detail:
I have three machines together: an NT4 Workstation (sp3), a
Win95 machine and a Debian (Hamm = latest stable release). The
NT 4 machine has a shared drive I want to access from my Debian
machine. I can access that share from the win95 machine. I can
also access a shared directory on the Debian machine fine from
the NT machine (but not the Win95 but that doesn't bother me
unless...

Thanks for the patch, unfortunately it does not fix the issue for
me. I am willing to try something else though :)

can't become user
Hi. I have installed samba before. This time I cannot even do
a smbclient -L localhost. When I try to connect I get
that log:
[1999/03/15 11:37:32, 0] smbd/uid.c:become_gid(105)
Couldn't set effective gid to 408 currently set to (real=0,eff=0)

User time and system time
...[1] 16.30 577.01 13679.00 0.02 0.23
I looked at the code in src/unix/system.c and the structure seems
consistent. Has anyone else tested system.time() extensively on a
Linux system? Anyone have any ideas what might be going on?
Just for reference, this is a Debian GNU/Linux "hamm" system using
libc6. I am running R with the options shown below.

3D pie
Hi all,
Is there a way to draw 3D pie with R (like excel does)?
I know how to do it in 2D, just by using pie(something)...
I know it isn't the best way to represent data, but people are sometimes
more interested by the look and feel than by the accuracy of the
results...
If there is no way, have you another suggestion ? (i already use
dotchart instead of pie)
