High volume plot using log(local density)
Hi, I am using the densCols to draw a high volume scatter plot. Instead of using the default local density, I would like to take log of the local density and then map them to the colors. I could not figure out how to do that. For example: plot(x,y,col=densCols(x,y,"log")) ? Any help would be appreciated! Jiaxiu [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Question about lm of R
I have just began to use R. I would like to know where I can find in R the equivalent of the LSMEANS of SAS when I realise a lm.. In the summary, there is the estimate but it's different of the LSMEANS. In advance, thank you. Martial Laurans Laboratoire Halieutique de Rennes ENSAR 65 rue de St Brieuc CS 84215 35042 Rennes

Regression model type II
I am trying to fit regression models type II with R, but it seems to me that most (all) of the linear model functions are for type I regressions. Does anyone knows whether type II regressions functions exist in R. nlme : convergence problem and other errors
Dear R-user, I am trying to use the R "nlme" function to fit a non linear mixed effects model. The model I wand to fit is an individual somatic growth model with 4 parameters. For all parameters both fixed and random effects have to be estimated, as well as their covariance matrix (see the formula bellow). The data are simulated with the same growth model as in the nlme, with know

force apply not to drop the dimensions of FUN results ?
...nction seems not suitable for a vectorization using sweep) Alternatively, a method to recover the wished array dimensions afterward would be also acceptable. Many thanks in advance. Problem with the cluster package
Hi everybody, I want to use the cluster package (Cluster Analysis Extended Rousseeuw et al.). I downloaded it from the CRAN and installed it on my linux system (fedora core 4). All seemed to be allright. But when trying to launch examples, I obtained the following message : > library(cluster) > data(votes.repub) > agn1 <- agnes(votes.repub, metric = "manhattan",

Problem running stepAIC within a function.
Hi I need to a function that automatically fits a regression to data, using the stepAIC. I've ran the code manually and it works fine. However, when I run the function on the same data, the following error occurs: Problem in regimp(fullsim = simt, fullsim1 = simt1,..: Length of (weights) (variable 4) is 4271 != length of others (4278) I got the function to output the length of the dataset

transform variables
Dear all! I have a data frame composed by 13 columns (year, and 12 months). I want to transform this data base in another like this year month values 1901 1 1901 2 1901 3 ..... 1901 12 1902 1 1902 2 .... 1902 12 Is there a possibility to succeed that in R? Thank you! best regards! CR -- --- Catalin-Constantin ROIBU Lecturer PhD, Forestry engineer Forestry Faculty of Suceava Str.
