monitoring asteriks
How can I monitor asterisk if all lines are registered etc?
I have an asterisk on a remote location and sometime they reporting problems that phone is not ringing, they can not dial out etc.
Usually I just restart asterisk and it solves the problem.
Is there an application that will email me if case any line looses registration with with asterisk?
Or any better solution!

Hopefully option 1 works for you (quick and easy). If not, you'll have to
try option 2. Ignore option 3 since that's only for users of High
Availability for Asterisk (HAAst).
(I assume that if you had a full backup you would have already tried to
restore it)

Lightweight ODBC DB
Hi,
I am running several Asterisk boxes with realtime around the world. Does
anyone have a recommendation for a "light" db that would work with Asterisk
that would also allow replication between all sites (so if I add an entry
to one box it will work with the rest)?
TIA.

iaxModem pickup problem
We run Asterisk 13 using the FreePBX 13.0.190.19 distro based on
CentOS-6.4. We also run HylFAX+ 5.5.3 with iaxModem 1.2.0 on the same
system with AdvantFAX as the web front-end. Our two fax lines are
configured as iax2 DEVICES.
These components have been working together through various versions
since 2013. On Tuesday last our site was subjected to a prolonged
power outage that drained our

Lightweight ODBC DB
Glenn,
I can't use MySQL as each node currently has MySQL however there is a lot
of data that is stored locally on each box. I may have to take this route
if I can't find something else but that would mean syncing all sorts of
data that does not need to be synced.

Looking for PRI Card with automatic fail over
Hi all,
Strange request, I have a customer where we are putting an Asterisk PBX in
front of a legacy (non-VoIP) PBX. One of the requirements it that the
Asterisk PBX have 2 PRI ports (on towards the legacy PBX and one towards
the carrier) with the ability to go to pass through should the Asterisk PBX
(software or hardware level) fail.
I did not see this feature in the Digium, Sangoma, Allo, or

High Availability with Asterisk
Hi everybody,
what are the current options to get an Asterisk-system high available?
Using two servers as active/passive with DRBD, Pacemaker/Corosync works
very good, there are no quality issues of the voice quality, even not on
high loaded servers and no problems with a lot of small packages.
But for this you need two systems for every Asterisk-system, what is not
"economic" in any

HA Asterisk
Hi,
I have been looking at Asterisk SCF http://www.asterisk.org/asterisk/scf,
but its not yet production ready. Can someone please pitch in about HA
feature in Asterisk ?
(HA -> High Availability.) Also, What would be the pros and cons of using
AsteriskNow over Asterisk ? Are the versions same in Asterisk and
AsteriskNow ? We have been evaluating Asterisk for our Voice Application and

I need a second opinion on a new phone system deployment
Howdy All,
They say opinions are like belly buttons, everybody has one. (that's
the "clean" version of the saying). So I'm asking for yours. I hope you
see it as a fun exercise.
I'm designing a phone system from the ground up. Will be about 1000-1300
seats mixed 80/20 VoIP/Analog. 58-acre campus environment with 23
buildings. Userbase is emergency services
