winehq.org OR winehq.com?
I see that some messages are addresses to wine-users@winehq.org and others are addressed to wine-users@winehq.com Which address is correct? Thank you. Dotan Cohen http://technology-sleuth.com/long_answer/how_can_i_be_safe_online.html

Only one app keeps me on Windows - Can WINE free me?
Currently, there is only one application that is keeping me on Windows, and that is the TivoDesktop software that lets me DL episodes from my Tivo, and in conjunction with the DirectDump tool, allows me to convert those Tivo files to standard MPEG-2 files for editing. Does anyone have experience running TivoDesktop under any version of Wine under any distribution? I'm rather distro agnostic

Tracking DLLs
Does anyone know what command line params I can use to track what DLLs a a program is accessing -- I'm trying to debug "unreal" from a compiled install of Wine 0.9.4. Everything works fine for the most part but the keyboard and mouse tend to freeze up. I thought maybe using a native DLL for mouse and keyboard might fix the problem. Thanx much, Jeff

Wine config file??
I can't seem to locate wine.conf in wine version 0.9.4. I made configuration changes using WineTools and now I can't change the configuration anymore. I'm assuming assigning a native dll is causing problems and I'd like to change it back. thanx Jeff

Wine-wiki broken by design

Re: Windows apps from windows parttion
I'd have to guess "no" on this one. I believe wine uses it's own registry settings, so for most windows apps to run they need to be configured in the windows registry -- unless they happen to be stand-alone apps that don't require any special files or registry settings (some of these do exist). I'm assuming you'd like to run programs installed on your windows

Sliding screen in games [again]
Okay, I've posted this twice before and if I've learned anything with Linux it's that "patience and persistence is the key". Anyway, when I play First-Person-Shooters in wine sometimes the screen will slide if I move the mouse too far to the side. Generally happens when the game hangs for a second -- trying to catch up with sound or video or when I drop the console to type

No keyboard input.
I'm trying to install Thomas Guide Digital Edition and I can't type the serial number in. The mouse works fine, I just have no keyboard input. I noticed the keyboard is very quirky in another program I'm trying to fix. Any idea what I can try here? Wine 0.9.4 compiled Fedora Core 4 WineTools 0.9 Thanx, Jeff

Display quirks
Hi, I was wondering if I could get some help with a small nuisance. I've been pretty successful installing and playing a number of games under WINE but I notice a problem, particularly with FPS type games: I use a dual display configuration - Nvidia GeForce 4 MX. I've managed to configure the "metamode" settings in xorg.conf so when the games go "fullscreen" and

Sliding game screen
Hello again, Does anyone know why some FPS games tend to have the screen slide sideways occasionally, showing part of the desktop (this is a dual display system so my desktop is 2048x768). I've configured the metamode settings in xorg.conf to blank the primary monitor when the games go full screen and change the resolution -- which works fine except when the mouse movement causes the screen

Setup programs not detecting IE6
Hello, I've been trying to install a program (Thomas Guide Digital Edition). Unfortunately the installation process says that it can't detect IE6 on my system. I know it's installed because it's the first thing that the Sidenet config script installs. Plus I've used it in wine as well. Is there a command line setting or override I can use to make Setup.exe "think"

Backup binaries
I'm using Debian - Etch. Where does WINE keep it's binaries and libs so I can make a backup of my current working WINE prior to compiling -- just in case I mess something up? I know there's a number of files in "/usr/bin" that are prefixed with "wine*". Are there any that DO NOT have a "wine" prefix that I should know about? And files in
