Forcing Local Profiles with a Samba PDC
Forcing Local Profiles with a Samba PDC
Is there any way for Samba to force all NT and Win2k
clients of a Samba 2.2.7 PDC to use LOCAL profiles
instead of ROAMING profiles?
In my area each M$ box is attached to test equipment.
The differences in test equipment between M$ boxes
is significant. Roaming profiles are causing boxes
to complain about hardware that exists only on another
box. Forcing

is that the profile share should be seperate from the home share.
For the profile share, client side caching should be di...

Profiles ...
Greetings ...
This is a stupid question which have been wanting to ask for awhile,
and hope somebody can help me.
Profiles, if I understand it correctly come in two forms, local and
roaming? Now local in on the computer the user uses and roaming is one
that is download from the server when the user logs in.
Now, where my problem is, when I have some users who have huge
documents folder,

...tribute to work. I should also mention that as far as files go
the hidden attribute works fine.
I have also tried setting up a share on win2k to store profiles, and it
works flawlessly, in fact you even get the special folder icons for
recent, and favorites. Does anyone have any Ideas?

...you will want 64Mb or more of ram if you plan to run Xwindows
with Gnome or KDE, other wise 32Mb of ram should work for redhat 5.0 or
other older distros.
As far as the Amiga's I have not worked with them, but I would assume
that you could add a network card to them.
Hope that helps
