Feeling a little guilty...
This is the first time I have tried Centros and I must say that I am a very happy camper. But maybe my needs/goals are simple: I need HTTP and FTP servers that support Apache, PHP and Interbase (yes, that "funny" DB that runs and runs). RH 9 was like that and so was FC 3, BUT FC 4 was something else...could not even get it to install (like others). And this forum has been VERY

The Guilt List
I''m not a paid developer, but I still feel guilty. I thought it might be entertaining to have a little "programmer confession." So let''s hear an answer to this simple question: What makes you guilty about your Rails development? Mine is a bad one: I don''t write tests. I understand that TDD makes sense, but I just don''t do it. I''ve

checking for libusb in configure.in
Peter, similar to the OpenSSL test and "with_ssl", can we make the libusb test in configure.in depend on "with_usb=yes"? It's not as important as not linking against OpenSSL unless requested, but it caused a bit of confusion when I was trying to rebuild. I forgot that "--with-drivers=all" does not imply "--with-usb", and it was not registering that the

data frames; matching/merging
Hi all, I'm feeling a little guilty to ask this question, since I've written a solution using a rather clunky for loop that gets the job done. But I'm convinced there must be a faster (and probably more elegant) way to accomplish what I'm looking to do (perhaps using the "merge" function?). I figured somebody out there might've already figured this out: I have

[OT] TDD, Goats and Happiness (WAS: The Guilt List)
[snip good stuff] > After that you realize that TDD just makes you happy, so you start to apply it to other aspects of your life. Wait, I thought happiness had something to do with goats and feeling guilty about it. I''m confused. Again. But I would second Dylan''s suggestion of seeing a video of TDD in action w/ RoR. Having never tried this, it''s difficult to

R CMD check detects parse error, but in which file?
Hello I looked on the archives but did not find answer for that... Running R CMD check for a package, i get an error: Error in parse(n = -1, file = file) : unexpected symbol at 3341: } But how can I find which file is guilty? What is this 3342 referring to? Finally the solution I found is to source() every file until I find the file where the problem is... Is there some better way to do it?

Autocompletion
Hi there! I may be guilty of not doing my homework, but still, I've searched. I'm a relative newcomer to R (my forte is at present MATLAB, but for various reasons I'm trying to get literate in R). My question is: Is there an autocompletion feature buried somewhere in R? All the best Óttar [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Haven't got a clue ...
On how to even search for this "feature" as I have no idea on what it can be. I've got a meridian linked to * (by EuroISDN) which is linked to a ISDN30. I can make calls from the meridian, and receive calls into the meridian. Great stuff. However, if someone dials an invalid number, then instead of hearing a "three tone", the line just drops and goes dead. The console

Queues Announce help request.
I am trying to get a queue to do more than just play music and hold calls. Specifically, making some "comforting" voice announcements would be nice. Below is the queues.conf file relevant portions. Member phone number is munged to protect the guilty. We shouldn't need the announcement source info, but I have been trying everything. The problem is with the member busy, we get no

[LLVMdev] LLVM SVN Repository Offline for Maintenance Tomorrow
Hi John- Will this also mean a purging of the llvm-commits archive, to remove the diffs with the guilty files in them? ices 0.1.0 released
I am having one slight weirdness which I haven't been able to put my finger on yet. About once every other day or so ices dies with an error about libshout not being able to reconnect to the server. I am not sure who is guilty here ices or icecast. Unfortunately it only happens rarely, twice so far, I'll let you folks know more if I can get a better handle on it. Kirk -- Kirk

Corrupt Message?
Dear List, Am accessing dovecot imap through squirrelmail. Squirrelmail paginates the message list into pages. All works fine except for the page one particular email is in. When I try to open that page (or in fact click 'show all') the server returns: ERROR: Bad or malformed request. Query: FETCH 549,551,555:557,563,565,567:569 (FLAGS UID RFC822.SIZE INTERNALDATE

strange scp error on HPUX 11
Hi, I recently built openssh 2.9p2 on HP-UX 11 using GCC-3.0. ssh seems to work fine, but scp gives the following error whenever I try to use it (some names changed to protect the guilty). It seems to treat the first argument as a hostname no matter whether it is or not. Any perfectly legal scp invocation gives the same error (with the first argument as the offending hostname). Anyone else

UK Asterisk user, please pick up the white courtesy phone
So, I have submitted my configurations as public samples, and I should have expected this situation to arise. I changed all the relevant "private" configuration data in my samples to obfuscate or alter IP addresses, passwords, etc. However, I left my email address in voicemail.conf... Let me tell you, it took THREE messages sent by a distinctly British-sounding gentleman leaving

AstriCon offers a most sincere and humble apology for the barage of mail...
Dear Asterisk Community, I would like to offer my most humble apology for the enormous stream of mail messages currently battering at your mailboxes. I was honestly trying to help a worthy cause. Please blame me and only me. Neither Russell nor Josh are at all to blame for this. Nor, for that matter, is Olle. I am the guilty party. Please direct all anger/outrage/hatred/etc. towards

RC10 errors
I just installed a limited test of RC10 last night. So far, all is great except for errors being logged for one user (out of about 150 users total). This one user has not yet complained or anything, but the log file has repeated entries of the following format for him (host and username changed to protect the guilty/innocent): Oct 24 06:13:02 mail dovecot: IMAP(username): file
