Ext3 partition not appearing in df output
Hello, I converted my / partition to ext3 from ext2 today, and I'm using kernel 2.4.13+ext3 patch I used tune2fs -j and set the filesystem to auto in fstab, and compiled ext2 as well as ext3 in the kernel Upon rebooting, I tried df -hT to see if it had worked, and to my surprise it didn't list my root partition dmesg say it's fine (and btw everything works fine) kjournald

Bug#413601: Xen domUs vs. udev
Package: udev Severity: important X-Debbugs-CC: pkg-xen-devel@lists.alioth.debian.org Hello! When installing the udev package in a Xen domU, ``strange'' things happen. The following is a bit of guesswork, some hard facts are probably missing, but I hope that the udev and / or Xen maintainers can make some sense out of it. I'm for now happy with having a usable Xen server again... The virtual ethernet devices that the Xen dom0 creates for providing net access to a domU will have (unless overr...

...t; Unhandled instruction encoding format! > UNREACHABLE executed at > /Users/asmirnov/Documents/dev/src/llvm_34_ios/lib/Target/ARM/ARMCodeEmitter.cpp:547! This one at least is understandable. Your options imply (I couldn't find any "llvm_interpret" function, so there's some guesswork) that you're using the old JIT. That's been discouraged for a while, and it's been removed completely now in trunk. It's entirely possible it could randomly fall over (not all instructions are supported), and probably not even worth worrying about why. I'd just flip that &quot...

[PATCH] v2v: linux: pass the root device when using SUSE's mkinitrd
...n SLE guests < 12 tries to get the root device by scanning the fstab: this will fail, since v2v already remapped the devices from hd*/sd* to vd* in the guest (including in its fstab). Since we know what is the root device in the appliance, pass it to mkinitrd directly, so it does not have to do guesswork. Moved from Xen 2 to Xen 3... some questions..
...nel messages from boot (the messages from the hypervisor)? they scroll past so quickly I cannot read them, then if I get a kernel panic when the Linux kernel starts, I cannot see what the hypervisor was saying. It turned out to be lack of sata drivers in the kernel (they were modules), but that was guesswork. Im sure the Xen boot messages would tell me what hardware it had picked up. 6. When I was trying to build a custom kernel (with the sata drivers in), i tried the usual make ARCH=xen menuconfig in the linux source dir, but it gave an error (something about no such target or somesuch). Is this no l...

Help for sources.list
Greetings! I would be very grateful if someone could supply a suitable line to enter into /etc/apt/sources.list for the benefit of a complete dummy user (i.e. me -- I do not want to have to do any interpretation, guesswork, reading of docs, etc.; I want to just copy it in). The machine in question is an Intel laptop, wuth Debian Lenny (according to the Debian website the current stable version as of 12 Feb 2010). The current contents of /etc/apt/sources.list are: ======= deb http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/ lenny ma...

...and data register for this core. The other registers in the 0x00d000 area look like they are MUX control for the DACs, control for a scaler before the image is sent to the encoder (overscan, centering, flicker filter coefficients and vertical interpolation coefficients). All this is of course just guesswork, and some or all of it may be wrong. I'd appreciate it if one of you could point me to some place to document and exchange that information. If possible, I'd also like to have a look at any register dumps you have, especially for newer cards; maybe I am able to spot something. Finally, if...

Why is Sieve trying to re-compile global scripts?

Might be the error didn't go away last time I recreated due to different methods of creating the files. Who knows, I think I should give up and stop spamming the list with uneducated guesswork.

[LLVMdev] lit: deprecating trailing \ in RUN lines
...ne command that's executed. This is good for humans and will enable simplifications in the test runner. * Eliminating the trailing \ syntax will unblock work on improved failure source locations in lit. Right now, when the builders encounter a test RUN failure it's a matter of guesswork as to which RUN line is failing, and the cycle of commit-fix-and-watch-buildbots is laborious. We've all wasted time with this at some point and can totally do better. *Considerations:* * Some run lines will now go over 80 columns. I suggest living with it as a fact of life...

ISO R-programming docs/refs
...uage than this sort of information?[1] This is just one of many examples. My R code is filled with crude hacks that I don't understand, and that I stumbled upon in blind scrambles to get my code to work. How can I possible stand by the results of my R scripts if they are the product of sheer guesswork? I even bought the R Reference Manual, vols. 1 and 2, and deeply regret it, since they are nothing other than a hardcopy of the online manual pages[1]. This is no substitute for a reference of the R language and how to program it. Is my impression correct that R is simply not well-documented eno...

SORT(DATE) and missing Date headers
...st as badly formed as they were when they were sent, which is to say, they have no Date header. Unfortunately, this means that SORT (DATE) puts them at the beginning of the list---and in a mailbox with lots of old mail, that's usually the wrong spot. Now, my email clients will do some basic guesswork about when the message was sent, usually by falling back on the timestamp of the first-added Received header. So, they will display a date. But they have to then sort all messages themselves in order to get a valid sorting. Would it be possible to get Dovecot to fall back to Received header pa...
