I need to be able to port forward traffic from y.y.y.y to the box on
10.10.10.1. I have my firewall configured (I use gshield) but
10.10.10.1 does not seem to answer when I try and test.
I use gshield all the time for other servers with only 1 connection,
and it works awesome. I can't seem to get it to forward traffic from
y.y.y.y to 10.10.10.1.
10.10.10.1 and 10.10.10.4 are connected together with a switch, and I

Hi all,
This one really beats me. I''ve run out of idea how to get this right (well, I
plan to format it and replace with mdk9.2).
I''m running a gateway on mdk9.0 box using gShield. Now, since I have been
using shorewall on my notebook with great satisfaction, I want to replace
gShield with shorewall.
So, I set it with this settings:
interface:
net ppp0 -
loc eth0 detect
zones:
net Net Internet
loc Local Local networks

"basic two-interface" setup problem
Hi,
I installed the shorewall 1.3.8-2 debian package to my debian testing
machine which serves as the gateway to the internet. Since I have two

blocking outgoing ports with iptables
Hi,
I'm using the generic system-config-securitylevel-tui program on a
remote server to configure my firewall. So far it's been fairly decent,
allowing me to open up ports and whatnot. But I want to start blocking
a couple of outgoing ports on my machine. I want to lock it down so the
only traffic going in our out of my machine is stuff that I specify.
Is there a way to do this

RE: Proxy ARP working from Internet butnotfromfwand loc
Hi Alex, and thanks for your time.
Probably not.
The servers are only configured like they where when they where parallel to
the fw.
Just the default gateway, same as for the external interface on the fw.
That''s what the documentation instructed to configure the servers using arp.
But is it required with extra configuration on the server connected via
proxy arp?
Or is it some parameter
