grub booting from software raid problem
...ponding BIOS drive If I don't use software raid for the root partition, all works fine, but this erodes the redundancy of my server... Have I suddenly started doing something wrong, or is there a new bug out there that needs whacking ? I'd be grateful for your comments! Jake -- Dr J. ...go to "gollum at lmb.internal" I have four NFS servers, using NIS / automounts (no LDAP), my users all have email addresses <USERID at lmb.internal>. Any ideas on how to get warnquota to work, or should I just write a script to parse `repquota -avgu` ? many thanks Jake -- Jake Grimmett

Opteron + Nvidia + Centos 4.2 i386 = Thud
...'s and Opteron 246's. As things used to work more or less perfectly with i386 Centos 4.1 (2.6.9-11.ELsmp and the Nvidia 7667 driver) I'm starting to feel a little stupid - any chance that someone could put me out of my misery and suggest some solutions? 10Gbit ethernet
If I could ask question about 10Gbit ethernet.... We have a 70 node cluster built on Centos 5.1, using NFS to mount user home areas. At the moment the network is a bottleneck, and it's going to get worse as we add another 112 CPUs in the form of two blade servers. To help things breath better, we are considering building three new NFS servers, and connecting these and the blade servers

CentOS to support ICH9
Hi, full ICH9 support for Centos 5 can be found http://fs12.vsb.cz/hrb33/pub/ Take it as a workaround until CentOS 5.1 is released. I hope ICH9 to be included in this version. Support is done by backporting from new kernel versions. Delta file is created with mkdeltaiso from CentOS-5.0-i386-bin-DVD.iso, so full image can be created with applydeltaiso. Regards, David Hrb??

tripwire / .xauth$$$$ problem on Centos5
...ignore this path. 2) stop the .xauth files having a random name However I can't get a grip on how to control the creation of the .xauth file: I've tried adding XAUTHORITY=/root/xauth/xauth to /root/bashrc and this does not work, so any ideas are welcome! SAMBA PDC LOGIN - UPN (user@realm) to DOM\USER
I have looked and looked but have not been able to find out how to allow UPN authentication to be processed by a Samba PDC? Is it possible to strip the "@domain" from the user before authentication at samba or map the UPN user to a dom\username for authentication? Thanks, Andrew LOGS /var/log/samba/log.user: SAM Logon (Interactive). Domain:[domain]. User:[user at

Dear All, Very pleased to see that the Redhat 6.5 beta promises "Native Support for GlusterFS in QEMU allows native access to GlusterFS volumes using the libgfapi library" Can I ask if virt-manager & libvirt can control libgfapi mounts? :) or do I need to use ovirt? :( many thanks Jake
