Samba restart
hi all, I noticed that when I upgraded from Samba 2.0.7 (redhat 7.0) to samba 2.2.1a I lost this nice little script that came with redhat to start and stop the samba server. I would type in /usr/sbin/samba start and get a response like... /usr/sbin/smbd start (OK) /usr/sbin/nmbd start (OK) I liked that...does any one have a substitute that I could use for 2.2.1a? Thanks Carl

[LLVMdev] 3.6.2-final has been tagged.
Hi, I have tagged 3.6.2-final, so testers can start building and uploading -final binaries. There was only one change between 3.6.2-rc1 and 3.6.2-final, which was a patch to the R600 backend to fix the build with VS2012. Running a full regression suite is probably not necessary, but you still can if you want to be extra careful. -Tom

Just to note there was a bug in test-release.sh where the script would not exit if the build/tests failed making failures less noticeable. I've fixed it in r241599. It would be a good idea to use that fix unless you are happy combing through the logs for failures.

rsync reporting unexpected close and error in protocal data stream
Greeings, I'm running rsync version 2.5.4 on a solaris 2.8 box in daemon mode. I've got nfs mounts on a system in one datacenter and I've more nfs mounts on a different system in a second data center. I'm trying to sync of of the nfs mounts and I'm getting the errors seen below. I've got five other nfs mounts running exactly the same way with out an issue.

samba + slave OpenLdap (read-only)
Hello, I'm trying to config samba to use a openldap replica (slave) base. Every thing is working, except when I try to join a machine to a domain. Samba try to write some attributes in openldap, but this database (slave) is read-only, so this operation fails. Openldap can return a REFERRAL when a client (samba) try to do a modification on a slave database and this already is happening.
