Questions regarding journal replay
Today, I had to uncleanly shutdown one of our machines due to an error
in 2.6.28.3. Durin the boot sequence, the ext4 partition /home
experienced a journal replay. /home looks like this:

ONTIMEOUT pxelinux.0
I'm fond of using the above with TIMEOUT 100 and vesamenu.c32 so the
system just cycles the menus repeatedly awaiting user interaction.
However if user interacts, but then don't choose anything for a few

for me in 3.07. :-(
3.07:
LOCALBOOT -1 apears to work as I have a hard disk listed in bios boot

pxelinux and DISPLAY
I've begun tinkering with syslinux v3 and have uncovered an anomoly with
the DISPLAY file when called by pxelinux.0.
If I have:
DISPLAY boot.msg
With an "^Xsplash.lss\n" in the file boot.msg (exactly: 18 73 70 6C 61
73 68 2E 6C 73 73 0A) file, it will fail to load the rle image. And
produce some goofy results in the tftpd log:
