Grandtream Conference issue
Hi, I'm using Grandstream IP phone GXP2000, with Asterisk 1.4.15 I'm using g729 codec and want to use only this codec for the calls. My normal calls are going fine. But issue is coming when I'm using the conference from the Line1 and Line2 Option. When I'm initiating the conference at that time, IP phone is sending the G711ulaw for the conference call, while in my phone I've

I am referring to the actual hardware/software and bandwidth requirements for this to work well. I have run two software video phones and I had marginal results with it when displayed on large LCDs,

Why remotely reboot SIP phones?
Over the last couple of weeks I have seen a thread about remotely rebooting SIP phones from Asterisk. Is there something inherent in Asterisk that *requires* that SIP phones to be rebooted in a particular scenario, or is it just so that phones can pickup new firmware and/or configuration from their boot server? TIA.

Best FXO Gateway
I'm currently looking to deploy an Asterisk server using an FXO media gateway to connect to the PSTN and was looking for any user experiences that may aid in selecting a gateway. Specifically i'm looking for a 4-port model under 500 dollars. Within this category exists: MediaTrix 1204 Grandstream GXW-4104 AudioCodes MP114 I've read over Voip-info.org regarding these products and

IP Phone with Standard Power Ethernet
I am looking at phones for my asterisk system and seem to have a problem. The only Power over Ethernet phones I can find that support the IEEE standard are 3com. Cisco uses its own proprietary ( and is expensive to boot ), snom has a different but equally non-IEEE method, and i'm havent found another phone that I'm confident can do the job for our office. Whats a good high quality ip
