RFS: xen-qemu-dm (new package)
Hi, I believe the package is ready: http://ftparchive.gplhost.com/debian/pool/lenny/main/x/xen-qemu-dm-3.4/xen-qemu-dm-3.4_3.4.2-1.dsc I asked Ian Jackson to sponsor it (he works for Citrix and is a DD), but it's been 2 weeks, and he seems busy with work. I'd be glad if someone was sponsoring the upload of this package in Debian SID, soon enough so...

Bug#562703: qemu-dm missing from xen-utils-3.4
I tried using http://ftparchive.gplhost.com/debian/pool/lenny/main/x/xen-qemu-dm-3.4/xen-qemu-dm-3.4_3.4.2-1_amd64.deb But my hvm instance wouldn't start. HVM support to be removed from Debian Squeeze: call for volunteers
...sor for my package, which can seriously slow down everything. If a registered DD could raise hand, that would help as well. I think that the best way here, is to build a (small, 3 or 4 persons) team to work on this issue so it can be addressed fast. I'd like to highlight also, that my company (GPLHost) doesn't really need the HVM part of Xen (we sell PV only VMs), so I'd be doing it only for the community, and not for myself. So please volunteer, as this is the only way it can work. Best could be to create a project in Alioth (which I never did, maybe someone else who had this experience...

Fwd: [Xen-announce] Xen Security Advisory 19 - guest administrator can access qemu monitor console
Hi everyone at the security team, I'd like to upload an update of xen-qemu-dm-4.0 in Squeeze. Below is the Xen Security Advisory as I received it, attached is the patch that they provided. Both the debdiff and the updated packages are available in here: http://archive.gplhost.com/pub/security/xen-qemu-dm-4.0/ Please allow me to upload this fix. If you wish, I can prepare a DSA as well (but probably what's below is enough for you guys to prepare one), just let me know. How to compile the debian xen kernel?
Hi! I would have love to participate in the dev of the Debian Xen kernel, as my company (GPLHost) is quite involved in Xen, Debian and hosting. I was quite happy to see that there is now support for dom0 kernel in Lenny. Now the only thing is that I didn't find the way you guys are using to compile the Debian Xen kernel, and didn't find any doc about it either. Where can I find such d...

making automated console screenshots
...e panic=60 commandline option - if a VM goes to crashed or shutdown state, stop saving new pictures, archive the last 5 and then when the box comes up again, they''ll still be available for debugging purposes. This way I could have a console snap right next to the Xen VM management (I used GPLHost DTC) for this. It would help people to see the last console screens even after a VM crashed, and ease up "searching for the right system" or anything people might want to do with it. I had first thought about using netconsole to send the console messages to a syslog server, but the scree...

[patch] debian/copyright
The debian/copyright is quite wrong and missing quite some copyright/license issues. I rewrote it using the DEP5 format. But since it's too big (more than 40 KB), I couldn't attach it. So I've put it here: http://ftparchive.gplhost.com/xen/debian_copyright This includes all the copyright things for Qemu as well, but it might be missing some authors. I believe that the MAINTAINERS file, shipped on top of the source folder, should be packaged too, in all binary packages we ship. Please use this copyright file instead of the c...

Xapian 1.3.7 development snapshot released
...That's true even though this is a release candidate of sorts - we reserve the option to change the ABI if it's the best way to address an issue which crops up in the next three weeks. Most of the changes since 1.3.6 are portability fixes - I've resurrected the buildbot slave VM which GPLHost kindly provide, and worked through the builds which were failing. You can read the full lists of user-visible changes here: https://xapian.org/docs/xapian-core-1.3.7/NEWS https://xapian.org/docs/xapian-omega-1.3.7/NEWS https://xapian.org/docs/xapian-bindings-1.3.7/NEWS As always, if you en...
