Testing from where number is...
Hi! My customer want's to allow calls to landlines in EU and US and disallow calls to cells in EU. Rest of countries are blocked. Country blocking is easy... Is there a service that allows checking phone number? Maybe some specific Enum? I ask for number and server responds with info, for example: "Cell Phone, Belgium" or "Land Line, Germany". -- Piotr Gorski

Error while compliling
Hi, Please help me resolve this problem. While compiling samba-1.9.18p8, I got this message: cc: Internal compiler error: program cc1 got fatal signal 6 make: *** [smbpass.o] Error 1 I have re-edited the Makefile, and recompiled several times. Each time I got the same error message, at exactly this same spot. Is this a problem with my gcc compiler? which the message seems to imply. But I have

e100p and E-bit alarm indication
...t it has a flag for enabling the E-bit generation in the "TCR2" register and that the wct1xxp.c wasn't setting it. So i tried this small patch and the telco is perfectly happy with it, now, the E-bit error has disappeared. Since there had been a thread in May (started by Konrad Gorsky) about weird far end CRC errors i'm posting in the hope to help somebody. Note that i do not have a clue on what this does to the *T1* framer. I do not have the specs for it! bye lele --- zaptel/wct1xxp.c 2003-09-12 10:12:01.000000000 +0200 +++ zaptel-i/wct1xxp.c 2003-09-11 19:24:5...

Strange problem with icons!
Check out these MSKB articles. They describe how shortcuts are resolved. In particular, the last one describes the process required to "fix" this behaviour. I had a LOT of trouble when I first set up my LAN because people had a nasty habit of sharing drive C (even I used to do this until I discovered that this is a Bad Idea). The main problem is that the shortcut includes the UNC

How to start smb server when reboot?
Hi, I installed Samba 2.0.3 on Linux 2.2.5. Every time I reboot system I found the smb has not been started. But in the directory /etc/rc.d, the file "smb" exists. When I run "smb restart",after a while, the samba server is ok. I wonder why the samba server is not up when system reboot. Thanks a lot. Followed is the content of the file "smb": #! /bin/sh ..

pam_smb authentication
I am appending some documentation by my colleague Bill Eldridge that was actually written for our dial-up service, but should work for you purposes as well. A couple notes. 1.)The user must exist in /etc/passwd on the Samba machine or login to the Samba box will fail. 2.)In the example, we don't set up home directories for the users, we are using it for dial in and they usually want to

Dear Samba team: I just download SAMBA 2.0.7 from http://samba.gorski.net/samba/ftp/Binary_Packages/redhat/ and I have already installed SAMBA 2.0.6 which come with my red head linux 6.2 CD. vorbis+flac compression
It seems, that oggenc-ing audiofile, and then flac-ing diffrences between original file and vorbis compressed file gives a little better compression than simply flac-ing. I've tested it on one file only: file.wav 55829468 bytes flac -8 file.wav file.flac 37924329 bytes (0.6793 of original) oggenc file.wav file.ogg 4784799 bytes oggdec -o ogg.wav file.ogg sox tmp.wav ogg-.wav vol

Newbie Question...
Hello! Im new to Asterisk configuration and I have few questions regarding its configuration. I have 4 PSTN lines connected to TDM410. I can make exact 60 minutes of free calls from each of 4 pstn lines... Can I configure Asterisk to call thru pstn line that has free minutes? For example Outgoing calls are going through PSTN 1 for 60 minutes. When I use all of these free minutes - outgoing

Net View: Must Log in error
Hi all, I have a user in a remote office with a 95 machine with WINS server set to my samba server here. I've tested the cross-subnet stuff -- everythings ok on that front. But whenever he tries to type in "net view" at a dos prompt, he gets the error: "Must me logged in to perform this action." Is there a network setting which I've missed? Thanks for any help,

smbclient -I 172.16.0.43 -M
I'm trying to do the winpopup emulation thing to an IP address instead of NetBIOS name. The following don't seem to work: smbclient -I 172.16.0.43 -M smbclient -M -I 172.16.0.43 The bottom one tries to interpret -I as the host name. What's up?... and don't say my head!!!! ;-) Thanks in advance, sorry if it's been asked before -Vickers
