VirtualDub and enconding with DivX, XviD
Hello,
I am trying to get the latest wine (Wine 20030219, fake windows) working
with the
GordianKnot (0.27). Unfortunately, Virtual Dub is not be able to compress a
avs-file with the DivX-codec. It crashes if trying to. Also, it would be
nice to compress an
mpeg-source with Xvid but also it crashes. BTW, VirtualDub does
not list it in its codecs window ?f "msvfw32" is set to &quo...

403 (Forbidden) with Apache on Mongrel Cluster
...rmissions on the entire rails directory structure still to no avail.
I''ve also set up a non-rails virtual host, and everything works fine
there. So I doubt that it''s a vhost problem.
What could be the problem here? Any insights would be awesome; to me,
it''s been a real gordian knot.
Thanks,
Kyle

[LLVMdev] strace for whole-program bitcodes (was: RE: building whole-program bitcode with LLVM)
...lines after
finding some genuine madness in a build system
(it used AWK to munge together existing .c files
into new ones midway through the build). I want
a method that's guaranteed to mimic faithfully
an arbitrarily nutty default build system, and
an strace-based approach seemed like a "Gordian
knot" solution. However I haven't tried it yet
and I'm wondering if anyone else has, or if
anyone can think of situations where it will
fail.
Thanks!

Re: parting shot re nVIDIA on Linux
Hey,
I only got a Voodoo Banshee because one was up for
auction locally, and I could get it cheap. I also had
good results with a cheapie S3 card.
I suspect that most any other card might work better
than nVIDIA.
So if you want to "cut the Gordian knot" and solve the
problems fast, F**K nVIDIA, and try any other display
card.

any way to get pxelinux to grab its config file from another host?
I'm using gpxe to chain to pxelinux on a different host than gpxe was
loaded from. The chain command looks like this
chain tftp://other-host/pxelinux.0
Unfortunately, pxelinux is ignoring other-host and going back to the
original host to look for its files. Is there any way to alter this
behavior?
Thanks,
Mike

AutoGK issue on OS X
...le.
Note: This is from a DVD I purchased, I want to convert it for home use, I'm not uploading it anywhere.
I've used MacTheRipper to rip the DVD and I've got a folder containing AUDIO_TS and VIDEO_TS sub-folders and associated files.
Wine comes into play as I want to use AutoGK (Auto Gordian Knot) to take those files and generate a 700MB AVI file from them.
I've installed wine 1.2.2 from here (http://winebottler.kronenberg.org/wine/), plus winebottler as well.
I have followed instructions here (http://dailyapps.net/2008/08/hack-attack-how-to-create-axxo-quality-dvd-rips/) on how...

FXS or VOIP
Hi
I am setting up a phone system for a small office.
The office will have 5-8 phones and a fax line.
There are 4 hunt lines coming into the office.
We have made no hardware purchase yet.
Being an asterisk newbie, before I suscribed to this list I just
assumed that I would buy voip phones and connect
all the phones to a private ethernet network.
However, I see many people inquiring about FXS

It is with regret that I announce that Shorewall development and support is

Sean''s post has finally driven it home to me that in the long term, trying
