Package: virt-goodies - partly solved
For CentOS KVM migrations use the virt-v2v package part of base.
See this link,

Package: virt-goodies
Hi Folks,
is here someone who knows where to get the package "virt-goodies" for CentOS6

I'd like to convert VMWare-images to KVM.

CeBIT goodies
I saw a quick demo of HotLava's multiport ethernet cards at CeBIT last week. The guy there had a low-spec server with two multi-port 10Gbe cards in sitting there sustaining 200Gbit/sec. I was quite impressed, thought it might be of interest to gluster users. They're very pretty when they're all lit up :) http://www.hotlavasystems.com/

[LLVMdev] Next LLVM release thoughts?
Hi All,
It has been entirely too long since the last release, and we have plenty
of goodies for a very solid release. Do people find releases useful, or
should we just continue to run out of CVS? Does anyone have any thoughts?

On considering which versions get you various C++11 goodies, I'd
personally recommend gcc 4.5 as the baseline:

logos and goodies
I've got a couple questions related to my search (in vain) for an "R" tshirt
or coffee mug. The first question is simply: is there a higher-resolution
R logo available than the one at r-developer.org? (or the modified one
provided by useR conference pages)
Next: what are the chances of someone in the "R management" setting up a

wants to work as a web developer(css, html, flash, php, photoshop and
the other usual goodies), we've got a job opening.
If you like abuse, long hours, low pay, and lots of stress, we have

asterisk turn key solution

we will need the hardware as well as tech. support 24/7.
we'll want all the goodies, voice mail, auto attendant.
we have 6 incoming pot lines (all the same number), and 40 normal
telephones.
we have no interest in changing to ip phones or the pot lines at this time.
we're interested in removing our meridian pbx system,

problem with listing users on winXP/2k+3
Hello list,
Some days ago i sent an email to this ML about a problem im having with listing
users on winXP/2k+3 computers.
The thing is our samba PDC has +1600 users and, this time i counted, there only
appear on the "security advanced settings" list box (where we select users that
can read/write/execute on a windows directory share), about 500/550 users.
There is no evident reason

write.table vs. read.table and the argument "fill"
Just wondering how come read.table lets you specify fill=TRUE for ragged
arrays, but so far as I can tell, no equivalent for write.table?
Not a big deal, since I'm perfectly comfortable w/ write and scan and
the other file I/O goodies. "A foolish inconsistency..." and all that.

WinAmp Plugin with HTTP Streaming Support
I finally figured out why I was having so many problems with MSVC 5.
Compiler optimizations were doing BAD things. :-(
Anyway, here's the goodies:
http://www.javasource.org/in_vorbis.dll If you just want the plugin.
http://www.javasource.org/in_vorbis.zip For the source.
If somebody can get a working version from MSVC 6 please send it back to me

sorting & subsetting a data.frame
Dear all
This may be obvious, but I cannot get it working. I'm trying to subset
& sort a data frame in one go.
x <- iris
x$Species1 <- as.character(x$Species)
##subsetting alone works fine
with(x, x[Sepal.Length==6.7,])
##sorting alone works fine
with(x, x[order(Sepal.Length, rev(sort(Species1))),])
##gets subsetted, but not sorted as expected

Hey railsers...anyone run into this problem?
I''m developing an app which I''m deploying with Capistrano. That being said,
I''ve stuck all the file_column goodies in public/system/...
During my deployment script I chmod -R that directory and everything in it
to make sure www-data (the apache user/group) has access to it.
