mountpoint fallback support
...stop the fallback mountpoint stream, the main mountpoint stream restarts, but only after client rebuffering
Also, during the mountpoint switchovers, sometimes the meta-data is lost in the clients.
thank you,
Michael

Is Puppet similar to Capistrano?
I discovered Capistrano while I was trying to figure out what I
wanted. See attached notes.

Puppet seems promising.
Thanks,

mountpoint fallback support
I just was looking at the CVS nightly build of the icecast2\src\source.c and see that the mountpoint fallback is now implemented (compared to the 2.0.0 release's source.c)
I was hoping to use this feature to support a multi-home radio station that has a master mountpoint stream and offsite "guest" mountpoints. These guest mountpoints would attach on a scheduled based and,

Summarizing data containing data/time information (as factor)
Dear R user
I want to create a table (as below) to summarize the attached data
(Test.csv, which can be read into R by using 'read.csv(Test.csv, header=F)'
), to indicate the day that there are any data available, e.g.value=1 if
there are any data available for that day, otherwise value=0.

Wierdness using Samba PDC with WinXP-Pro and Win2K-Pro clients
Hi All-
Please tell me if I'm posting to the wrong list. I looked for the list called
samba-ntdom (listed at http://us1.samba.org/samba/archives.html) because it
seemed a more appropriate forum, but it looks like that list has been
dissolved. Has the discussion for that list moved to some other list?
Anyway, here's the problem that I'm hoping someone can help me with:
I have

Samba 3.0 as NT4 PDC with MIT kerberos 1.3 (v5) for authentication?
Hi All-
Please pardon my repost of my usenet article in this list.
Previously, I asked if Samba 3.0 could be an Active Directory Domain
Controller (ADDC). I have the feeling that the answer is no. If so, then
I have this other question:
Can I use Samba as an NT4 PDC for making a Windows NT4 domain that
would host several M$ Windows XPP client computers as domain
clients/members, but have

Problems using WinXP-Pro client and Samba PDC
Hi All-
Some time ago (24 September 2002), I wrote the list about this problem with
using a WinXP Pro client with a Samba PDC (see below for details).
In response, Kenneth Illingsworth (if I understood him correctly) suggested
that the error message given by the Win XP client just might be accurate (ie.
that when the client complains of "Insufficient Memory" and then crashes

Best way to upgrade domain from control by 2.2.5 PDC to control by 3.0.20b PDC
Hi Folks-
I'll start by saying thanks to all the people who have made samba and
shared it as open source software. Samba is truly an amazing suite of
software.
I have a small domain of less than 10 clients which is currently being
controlled with a Samba 2.2.5 PDC running on a Compaq x86 server with a
very old Suse Linux 8.1 OS.
Since setting up this Compaq server, my preferred

Samba 3.0 stable: make --with-afs fails on SuSE 8.2
Hi All-
I have SuSE 8.2 installed on two different Intel machines, with (as far as
I can determine) all required packages for doing what I'm trying to do
here. Both machines suffer the same problems.
I didn't find any SuSE 8.2 rpms, so I'm trying to build Samba 3.0 (stable)
(24th Sep, 2003) on either of these machines but am having problems with
it.
As root, I did a
