Why not install instead an arbitrary version of Syslinux and replace all
.c32 files with the modules of the installed version?

cmenu.c32 Symbol not found luaL_checklstring
Hello everyone,
I am trying to PXE boot my Acer Aspire G3-773G laptop. It uses UEFI,
so I load 64bit syslinux.efi (v6.03) and it automatically loads
ldlinux.e64. All is fine.
But when I want to use cmenu.c32 (with UI cmenu.c32 in the config file),
the loader downloads:
* cmenu.c32
* libmenu.c32
* libcom32.c32
* libutil.c32
Then syslinux reports: "unable to load cmenu.c32:

lua not working on syslinux-6.03-pre18
I've upgraded from syslinux-4.05 to syslinux-6.03-pre18 (pre11 was the same)
and am having some issues getting lua.c32 to work. I'm using lpxelinux.0
if that's relevant.
My boot file and the contents of default.lua are below. As you can see they
are fantastically simple. Essentially I'm just using lua to put the results
of ipappend in the right place on the command line.

Syslinux on MacBook Pro?
Hi,
Did anybody have success with running Syslinux on a MacBook Pro? I
didn't manage, but I admittedly have no idea about UEFI. I've also
heard that these machines deviate from the UEFI spec in some way...

Prompting the user for input in the PXE boot menu?
Hi,
I would like to get some data from the user in the PXE boot menu before
launching OS install. Something along these lines:
Please enter hostname for the system: <user types the hostname>
Please enter harddisk encryption password: <user types the password>
The values thus obtained would be fed to the kernel command-line and
from there to the OS installer. In our use-case it

generating hashed passwords for MENU PASSWD
Hello,
the wiki says, I can use hashed password for MENU PASSWD:
http://www.syslinux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Comboot/menu.c32
(actually the wiki says "encrypted" password, which I think is wrong and
misleading)
SHA-2-256 (Signature: $5$)
It further says, that SHA-2 passwords are compatible with very recent
Linux distributions.
That is great, but *HOW* do I generate such hashed

[PATCH][git-pull] lua: make kernel and initrd progress output match in sl_boot_linux
Hi,
Any word on this request? I'm planning to add error handling (as
bailing out after printing "failed") to sl_boot_linux(). Shall I build
on this patch, or shall I squash them together?
Thanks,
Feri.
