Polycom 1.5.2 firmware NTP problems
I'm running SIP 1.5.2 firmware with a 2.6.2 bootrom on a mix of Polycom
500s and 501s. I'm having a problem with NTP and I'm not sure if it's a
configuration issue or a bug in the firmware.
I've got the NTP server and GMT offset set in sip.cfg. However, not all
phones are in the same timezone. I was under the impression that I could
override the offset on a per-phone basis

Polycom NTP issue
I am ready to pull my hair out. I cannot seem to get the Polycoms to read
the time properly. Regardless of the server they are pointed to our the
offset, i am getting the correct time, but 24 hours ahead. So for today it
is showing Friday April 28 but with the correct time. Any clues?

package to convert coordiantes to timezone
Is there a R-package with a function that returns me the timezone, if
I hand over longitude and latitude?
I know online services like
http://ws.geonames.org/timezone?lat=-38.01&lng=147 and
http://www.earthtools.org/webservices.htm#timezone and wodner if this
exists for R too.
Thanks for helping,

Polycom Questions
Any Polycom gurus out there? If so, I have a few config file questions.
First off, does anyone have the daylight savings time rules written for
this Sunday's big change?
Secondly, if there any way in the config file to tell the phone not to
display the number of missed calls? I don't mind it keeping the missed
calls list, I just don't want that running count.
Lastly, I am trying

Avaya 9608G and DHCP and TFTP and HTTP oh my
Right-- I've seen the Avaya document you cite below. It says "To administer DHCP option 242, make a copy of an existing option 176" but I don't have any example of option 176 or 242 to copy, and don't know what to do to /etc/dhcpd.conf to make it offer option 242.
Then there's this long table of parameters to use with (presumably) option 242.
I was hoping someone had a

Polycom phones w/ two lines on different servers
Hi all -
This isn't really directly Asterisk related, but has anyone successfully
set up a Polycom phone to register two lines on two different Asterisk
boxes? I can get the first line to register, but the second one does not.
I can still place calls from that second line, which indicates to me the
server, user, and secret are correct. I'm running the newest 2.6 series
firmware with the
