[LLVMdev] RFC: Bug fix releases for 3.3 and beyond
...s better. This is a general social
phenomenon: larger and more-public organizational units need to be more
careful to ensure that they are not perceived as alienating or
discriminating. E.g. if you are serving dinner to close friends, nobody is
going to blame you for not having e.g. a vegetarian or gluten-free option.
But you can be sure that if the White House holds a dinner, they are going
to ensure that they have a vegetarian or gluten-free option.
So it might make sense for the a "stable branch" to be initially an
independent effort by a group of interested individuals who are willing...

Well, the plan I described assumed "zero collaboration from the
developers" for exactly the reasons you mentioned.
IMO it is possible to bring a "maintenance branch" which is preferable
to the development branch for

Strange error
I have been getting the following error everyonce in a while. Can
someone please suggest what could be going wrong with my system? It
happens about once every 3 weeks. I resolve this by rebooting my server,
although I never tried to figure out what is the real problem.

Remote Voice Mail
...ich is
where all the local SIP phones connect) the other is co-located and
connected to 2 PRI's. The two machines communicate via IAX. The idea is to
reduce the "WAN" traffic to the office. If people are off site, they connect
to the remote server. Everything works fine.
Now, being a gluten for punishment, I would like to make a small change. I
would like the email system to live on the remote server. Does anyone know
if it's possible to define a "remote" mailbox when defining users in
sip.conf? All the cool stuff (message waiting lights, etc.) work fine now
and I would...

Recommendations for Apache 2 with mod_fcgid
Hi,
Have been pulling out my hair for the last few days wondering what I''m
going to deploy my site onto.
I currently have FreeBSD 4.7, Apache 1.3.3, PHP 4 and MySQL 4 running a
year-old PHP site. Dated stuff I know!
The new version of the site will be entirely Ruby on Rails, and I am
wondering what order I should be doing things in terms of upgrades and
installation. I want to be

Metadata syntax (was Universal syntax for Markdown)
So, hi all. First time commenting on the list.
I personally think having tags (whether of type "author:" or type "by")
is useful for two reasons.
One: It allows multiple tags to be entered. Two, it clears up the
potential problem listed by Fletcher regarding tags.

Macbook for Rails Development
Hi All,
I''ve finally got fed up of struggling with Windows and am on the verge
of splashing out on a Macbook for Ruby/Rails development. I''ve seen
DHH''s post about it on loudthinking but I wondered if anyone else has
any more wisdom...
Is it worth it over a powerbook? Any tips on good OSX apps for Rails
dev (textmate, i know already)? Anything not working well on
