SeBackupPrivilege
We're using Samba 3.0.21a-1 on a CentOS 4.2 server (kernel 2.6.9-22.0.2.ELsmp); everything works more or less fine, it's functioning as the PDC with an OpenLDAP back end (setup essentially straight from the Idealx.org playbook), etc. We're trying to mount Windows shares to back them up, and getting "permission denied" errors when trying to read certain files from those

smbclient tar problem
Hello all. I'm using Samba 2.0.7 on Linux, and I've been having a problem I can't figure out. I was backing up a coworker's machine using the smbclient tar capability. He's got Win2k. I was looking at the tar file that was generated, and in some of the deeply nested directories, I'd get stuff like this: ./Projects/From MM58836/SPC internal Web/New

Apache 2.2 itk - 404 not found
Hi all, Freshly installed apache 2.2 with httpd-itk (from epel). When I try to access apache's document root from a browser on local network, it always serve me the Apache welcome page, even if I have a index.html and a phpinfo.php file in the /var/www/html folder. If point the browser specifically to http://server/index.html, I get a '404 Not found error'. I'm running CentOS

IPSec VPNs: to gif or not to gif
I will shortly be replacing a couple of proprietary VPN boxes with a FreeBSD solution. Section 10.10 of the Handbook has a detailed description of how to do this. However I remember a lot of discussion about a year ago about whether the gif interface was necessary to set up VPNs like this or whether it was just a convenience, for "getting the routing right". A number of people said

prototype help needed - how to get started
Hello, Despite Sergio''s excellent documentation on prototype, I’m still struggling to get started. I hope somebody is able to help me a with a little example to get me going. Please see html code below – I have this little navigation bar and I like to add some events/functions to the buttons. Let’s say, onmouseover, I like to change e.g. the background-color of the button and

a loop question
I want to get three .gif image files test.1.gif, test.2.gif, & test.3.gif by using a loop. The code I tried is like this: x=c(0, 1, 2, 3, 4) y=c(1, 2, 3, 4) for(i in 1:3) { x11() jpeg("test.i.gif") plot(x, y) dev.off() } but I only could get one image file, test.i.gif. How can I get three image files? Thanks.

Quota less mailbox with mdbox
Good morning everyone, I have a little doubt about setting a quotaless mailbox with mdbox. Currently we have dovecot 2.0.10 with Maildir as mailbox system. We want to migrate to mdbox. The migration is simple and easy, but there are some configuration settings we cannot set to work properly. In our dovecot with Maildir we have the namespace INBOX with certain quota and another one without

display SVG, PNG, GIF, JPEG, TIFF, PPM in new plot frame
Dear R-help I want to display an image file in a new plot frame. SVG is my preferred format, but I can also consider PNG, GIF, JPEG, TIFF, and PPM (from ImageMagick). By way of background (although not material to this posting), the image file is generated by a call to 'dot' (part of the 'Graphviz' suite) after the required .dot file has been produced using hand-crafted R code.
