[LLVMdev] Status of getPointerSize()/getPointerTy() per address space?
Awesome! What will the requirements be for the target? Is it sufficient to just override getPointerTy and add appropriate data layout strings, or will more hooks be needed? [LLVMdev] Status of getPointerSize()/getPointerTy() per address space?
Looking through recent additions, it looks like the infrastructure exists for targets to specify a per-address-space pointer size/type, but this does not seem to be used anywhere (SelectionDAGBuilder, legalizer, etc.). [LLVMdev] RFC: Supporting different sized address space arithmetic
Currently LLVM only supports address calculations for a single address space(the default). This is problematic when the device pointer type is 32/64bits, but there are small distinct memories that only have 16 bits of addressing(think GPU's with small software controlled memory segments). I am proposing a modification to a few API's in SelectionDAG that I believe will fix this problem.

[LLVMdev] Properly handling mem-loc arguments when prologue adjusts FP.
For my target, I handle incoming memory arguments by creating a store to memory (in LowerCall, [1]), then creating a fixed object on the stack and loading from it (in LowerFormalArguments[2]). [LLVMdev] Seperate stack location for outgoing parameters and local variables for custom target?
I'm working on a target for the intermediate language of another compiler (so it can benifit from LLVM's optimization stages). I'm working on LLVM 3.1 for now. I started the translater as a copy of the MIPS target so that I can just modify it to produce the correct output. I basically want to replace all of the local variables and incoming parameters with values that look like this:

Before this patch all outgoing arguments were move to the stack slot where they would go on a normal function call and from there moved back to the tail call stack slot to prevent overwriting of values.
