[LLVMdev] How to create shared library using llvm-ld
Hi, all.
I am using llvm-gcc to compile some softwares, and compile them with
CFLAGS="-emit-llvm" to gernerate bitcode IR. Then I have to replace normal
ld with llvm-ld.
Unfortunately, llvm-ld doesn't support -shared option which is used to
create a shared library. I've also noticed that llvm-ld supports an option
'-link-as-library' which is used to generate

Use nut to handle shutdown when using local Li-io battery (Cubietruck)
Hi,
ok, had this in mind but hoped for a driver for these "standard" linux
possibilities :-)
I will try it.
But would it not be an idea to have a gerneric "linux" driver for nut?

How to set the hostname alias in DNS server
...,all:
There has a problem which confused me for a long time . The problem is the
following:
Would I can set the hostname alias in DNS server?
That's to say, for example , if my hostname is called server, that it's
ip address is 127.0.0.1
and I want to alias another name called aaa
Gernerally, I can edit the /etc/hosts file to modify it, but the another
computer did not recognise it.
How could I do it ?
Thanks in advanced ....

Remarking non conformant packets as AF13 from AF11
Hi,
I am trying to implement a simple scaled-down version of the AF traffic
class type. As such I basically want to remark non-conforming AF11
packets to AF13. Here is m script that I have been using on the ingress
router of my network:

Link=''dev eth1''
Rate1=''rate 800Kbit''
Rate2=''rate 2500Kbit''

Graphics output device
Dear developers,
I wonder would you consider making a save to a graphics file format (as opposed
to ps)?
What prompts this is that we have just finished my wife's thesis using R
heavily for stats and graphs. The combination of latex, bibtex and R generated
.eps worked a treat and we were very pleased with both the final outcome and
the efficiency of gernerating it, especially when all the

kernlab's ksvm method freeze
Hello,
I am using kernlab to do some binary classification on aminoacid
strings.
I am using a custom kernel, so i use the kernel="matrix" option of the
ksvm method.
My (normalized) kernel matrix is of size 1309*1309, my results vector
has the same length.
I am using C-svc.
My kernlab call is something similiar to this:
ksvm(kernel="matrix", kernelMatrix, trainingDataYs,

Hardware decisions
I have a very small Samba4 system that supports my W7 clients. So small,
in fact, that I have only one DC (right now.) My DC is a 32-bit Pentium4
processor (512Mb RAM, 60Gb hdd), small form factor case, I got lucky and
found for cheap$$. My member server is a Intel DuoCore PC with RAID 1
(mdadm) hard drives mirrored running on Debian 7.8.0. And my backup
machine is a seperate (does only backup)

Use nut to handle shutdown when using local Li-io battery (Cubietruck)
Hey All,
I use nut on my Cubietruck some time now together with a APC USV and
everything works great including auto-shutdown.
Now I got a second Cubietruck and this one has a Li-ion battery
connected directly to the board. The data can be read out by "normal"
Linux options, e.g.:
cat /sys/class/power_supply/battery/capacity
for the current loading level and such.
My question is now

SMB Network design guidelines
Hi:
Can anybody point me to some guidelines about SMB network design or
give some advice? Samba HOWTOs are very detailed recipes, but I need
some general tips, like if we are serving fish or pasta tonight :-)
This is the situation: a WAN with 20 offices with 2 to 30 people in
each, plus a headquarter with 50 people, plus the databases and
central file servers. The organization grew up on a NT4

Hello Volker,
I was able to get those level 10 logs - spitted by machine.
Unfortunately I don't know how attachments behave - Groupwise seems not to be happy with those - so I try the redundant way:
Here are the logfiles for this event (only one machine, one try):

In this file there are about 3 occurrences of the

Cannot get sieve script replication to work
Hello,
I've set up dsync replication on 2 nodes and mail replication is working
flawlessly, however it seems that replicating the sieve scripts won't work.
Managesieve and sieve filter in gerneral seems to work on both nodes,
however in order to have a synchronized state, I have to log onto both
nodes with managesieve and save & activate the script.
What's funny about this is

[LLVMdev] Structure Types and ABI sizes
Hi all,
We're hitting some walls here when generating the correct structure
layout for specific C++ ABI requirements, and I was wondering how much
StructLayout could help.
For instance, the ABI has some complicated rules on the size of
derived classes
(http://www.codesourcery.com/public/cxx-abi/abi.html#class-types) and
LLVM struct type cannot reflect that in full.
Example:

Reducing the need to compile a custom kernel
Hi,
during some big discussions in the last monts on various lists, one of
the problems was that some people would like to use freebsd-update but
can't as they are using a custom kernel. With all the kernel modules
we provide, the need for a custom kernel should be small, but on the
other hand, we do not provide a small kernel-skeleton where you can
load just the modules you need.
