Dear All,
I'm sorry to bother the list with a problem that I am not sure
originates in Samba.
File server (no domain) is serving a mix of Windows 10 and Centos 7
clients, I have strange byte range locks.
- Server is Samba 4.17.5 / Kernel 5.14.0 Rocky 9.2
smbstatus -B gives:
- When client is Windows 10:

hi. i'm testing samba-3.0-rc4 with ldap(edirectory 8.7.1).
I extended the schema whitout problems.
i'm configure the samba server how a primary domain authtenticating in
the ldap server.

problem in font
Hi,
after a debian upgrade my dev.copy2eps dont work anymore. I have this message:
Error in matchFont(postscriptFonts(family)[[1]], old$encoding) :
unknown font
I try to change the font family in my .Rprofile:

Name Resolve Order : parameter of smb.conf with testparm
I am writing this letter and I hope that I'll have answers about the
generation of smb.conf by the way of smb.conf.master with testparm command.
Like is described on page 5 of Samba3-HOWTO.pdf.
The situation is:
- The manual of smb.conf says that the default value of the parameter ?name
resolve order? is ?lmhosts host wins bcast?, but when I type the command

I try to use a substitute function to generalise a equation.
I have this:
expression(1+2*pred+3*lat)
I need to define the equation in function of x1 and x2 variables. Also I try
to define who is x1 and x2. I try this:
X1 <- "pred"
X2 <- "lat"
Now I need substitute pred and lat in equation by x1 and x2 defined on X1 and

is possible to use update with lmer models
Hi,
the question on subject is possible?
example:
m1 <- lmer(y~1+(1|subject))
m2 <- update(m1,.~.+x)
I try but dont work, exist any other method for this?

problem with weights on lmer function
Hi,
I try to make a model using lmer, but the weigths is not accept.
m1<-lmer(ocup/total~tempo+(tempo|estacao),family=binomial,weights=total)
Erro em lmer(ocup/total ~ tempo + (tempo | estacao), family = binomial, :
object `weights' of incorrect type
I dont understand why this error, with glm this work. the total object is a
vector.
Any idea?

some caracter dont work with JGR

I testing JGR and I like, but my ~ caracter dont work. My keyboard is
Brazilian ABNT2.
The key is OK, only in JGR it dont work.

Problema with Excel files
Hi,
I have a Excel file with three spreadsheets: PlanA, PlanB
and PlanC.
I'm trying to read the three spreadsheets and then adding
them together.
But, when I try read the PlanA there is an error message:

Calculation of lags
Hi,
If I have the follow situation:
A dependent variable (i.e. number of insects) that is affected by an
independent variable (i.e. rain). The problem is that the measure of rain
affect the population in other moment. So there exit a lag between the rain
and the number of insects. Exist in R any tool to find what is this lag?

(). I find the plotAndPlayGTK package and the playwith function. It is a good
device. It is possible to make it default in my system.

Cluster analysis

I have no idea if this question is to easy to be answered, but I?m starting

MASS need R >= 2.4.0!!!

I have R 2.3.1 installed by debian p?ckage.
I install only the base and recommended R packages from Debian source, all
others packages I install from the R source at CRAN.
But, I try to use library MASS, but I received this message:
