Has anyone had any positive experience in installing the Legacy 6.0 genealogy program? The only instances I have found appear to be quite negative - to which I can attest; however, I would like to run Legacy 6.0 thru Wine in my Ubuntu OS if at all possible as opposed to using GRAMPS (a great program, but uploading a GEDCOM from Legacy 6.0 from Windoze Legacy has not been without major issues).

I'm a brand new wine user, trying to install a genealogy program that the database says works without problems. I get a load of error messages when I run the install, and the install never completely runs. I want help, but I don't know where to start. What information should I be providing to the good folks of this list in hopes of getting a solution? Thanks Rick Seiden

Hello, I am trying to get Personal Ancestral File (which is free Genealogy software from The Church of Latter Day Saints) to run with wine. I have tried configuring wine in different ways following different suggestions in the HOWTOs and Wine user guides with varying results.
