Samba creating multiple isntances of the deamon
(2005.10.10, 14:25) I am running Samba 3.0.14a-2 on Fedora 4. I have no problem seeing the Linux file system from any of the Windows (2000, SP4) computers attached to the network. The problem is that smbd processes are created for no apparent reason and never die. I noticed this when the computer had been up for about three days and there were some 600 active smbd processes! What could be the

Shared maildirs with symlinking
Hello, I try to set up a shared maildir with symbolink links, but it doesn't work. The main user, from which I would share a mailbox, creates a mailbox named "Commun" with thunderbird. I see on the file system from the server that a directory .Commun is created in his ~/Maildir/ and that the file ~/Maildir/.subscriptions has now such an entry. Right. In ~/Maildir/Commun the

TMG -- MS Visual Foxpro errors
...message-board on installing TMG under Wine. I'm trying it under Darwine on an iMAC. Could you tell me how you got it to run? The message-board goes back-and-forth so many times that I seem to be getting lost. I can get to the point at which I get the following message: Welcome to Darwin! gary-gauthiers-computer:~ garygauthier$ WINEDLLOVERRIDES="ole32=n" $WINE /Users/garygauthier/Desktop/DCOM98.EXE -bash: /Users/garygauthier/Desktop/DCOM98.EXE: Permission denied gary-gauthiers-computer:~ garygauthier$ I presume it's a permission problem, but I am running as a super-user. Dear Xen Users, I have _partial_ (that is, less than 100%) success following Jean David Techer''s Xen 4.2-unstable VGA Passthrough Documentation. In both Windows 8 Consumer Preview HVM and Windows XP Home Edition HVM, I get yellow exclamation mark besides NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS in Device Manager. NVIDIA Geforce 8400 GS in Device Manager reports: 1) Windows has stopped this device

Packaged Xapian Python 2.5 Bindings for Windows
Hi! Just to mention, I have built the Xapian python bindings on Windows with the Lemur Consulting makefiles, and packaged them up in a distutils executable. If anyone is interested, they are available here, in a nice easy to install format: http://www.raptorized.com/?page_id=136 I've only built them for Python 2.5 so far, but I'll try to package them for 2.4 as well when I get home

Has anyone successfully gotten an app that as to

[RFC] Removing Waymarking from Use.
Hi llvm-dev, I have a patch open for review that removes waymarking https://reviews.llvm.org/D77144. This patch removes waymarking and replaces it with storing a pointer to the User in the Use. when compiling the CTMark tests of the test suite, this give an average of +1.8% max memory use and -1.1% compile time. Removing Waymarking also simplifies the code of Use and User. Any thought?

R 2.10.1 is released
R-2.10.1.tar.gz was built a short while ago. This is a maintenance release and fixes a number of mostly minor issues. See the full list of changes below. You can get it from http://cran.r-project.org/src/base/R-2/R-2.10.1.tar.gz or wait for it to be mirrored at a CRAN site nearer to you. Binaries for various platforms will appear in due course. For the R Core Team Peter
